I have two pistols, 4 skills and am lvl 5. I also have the one elixir on the right hand side tool bar. I see people referring to kts/mortars etc? What am I supposed to be doing at first? Sorry I am complete noob and just want to make sure I am playing correctly.

after 10 you start getting skill points, in which you unlock all these cool things we are talking about. don’t worry about picking something and it turns out to suck, you will have more then enough points to unlock all the skills.

Take it easy, learn one thing at a time. There’s too much to learn and you will become overwhelmed if you want to know everything at once.
You don’t have to worry about kits or mortars right now.

Use your pistol skills, and your healing skill, and try to understand what they do.

Walk around. Talk to NPCs. Do some quests. Kill monsters. As you play, the game will tell you what to do, if you look at the top-right of the screen.

That’s it.

As an engineer, you can also use a rifle (which is a two handed weapon) and an the option for an off hand shield. You will run across both easily as drops. I suggest trying all 3 combinations and feel them out, and find which combinations you favor in varying situations. I know I keep 2 pistols, a shield, and a rifle, of appropriate level on me at all times. I tend to favor the pistol/shield personally, as a generall rule, but I use P/P or rifle in certain situations.

Over time you will earn enough skill points to purchase every utility and elite skill, so don’t worry to much about how you spend those points. Just read the tool tips and purchase what appeals to you. Over time, as you experience the game, you will get a feel for how you want to play, be it kits, elixirs, turrets, or gadgets, you will feel out what plays well for you.

Poor craftsman blame their tools. Poor players blame their Engineer.
