Well for power build without HGH=grenades,TK,RB
Go for PVT gear and BZ trinkets. Traits for Grenadier and rest put where you want. Maybe speedy kits.
But in current WvW it really does not matter. There are zergs everywhere even if you roam solo you will have problems with multiple enemies. And grenades against zergs is not the right option due the retaliation.
Static Discharge has been a staple of Engineer WvW Power Based roaming builds for a while now. There are tons of variations on the theme, and recent trait changes with the June 25th patch have opened up the variability of SD builds and allowed the incorporation of condition removal, more stunbreaks, and extra kiting potential. It’s up to you to find what works best for you.
This video by HAiMaiNeIm showcases what is possible running full GC, although it is possible to tweak your gear more if necessary.

I’m curious about this also. It seems the only power based wvw spec you can do is a static discharge build.
You can also do power bombs or grenades. Swagg has a good writeup although the damage is good, it isn’t bursty.

Engineer traits right now don’t really have anything else except for static discharge for easily repeatable burst.
There is CeiMash’s BoBomber burst build using Big Ol’ Bomb and the Rifle 3, 5, 4 combination, but as I said, nothing really stacks up to the repeatability and ease with which SD can be executed.

No just most people have no imagination, there are good flamer builds. Tool kit is also much better as power.
I personally use a flamer toolkit build that stacks might…its very good 1 on 1.
I’ve actually switched over to a power-based build utilizing static discharge. I run Berserker Armor (Ruby Orbs), soldier jewellery minus the neck (berserker).
0/30/10/0/30. Medkit, Elixir gun, rifle turret, toolkit.
Elixir acid bomb and jump shot provide pretty great mobility when coupled with Speedy Kits. It’s been working AWESOME and is much more fun than a condi based build IMO!

I tried playing around with builds but I just can’t find something I like. It seems like either I go heavy kits and miss out on a lot of the boons/utility the class has to offer, or heavy elixir and it’s basically just a single weaponset class. A balance is kind of OK, but missing out in both aspects. I think engi may just not be for me.
