I just got to 80 on my engineer and i spent all those levels working on thinking about a build. Engineer traits are really all over the place, hard to pick something solid :P. This is the build i came up with.
It basically focuses on stacking confusion and having a lot of power to use bombs on bosses with a mix of rampager/berserker gear.

I can also go for rabid instead of berserker to have some toughness, or swap weapons to knights.

I’m open for any ideas to change the current setup.

That calculator is way out of date. And to take Bomb Kit without increased radius is probably not a good idea. Also if you want to stack confusion you’re probably gonna want to use cond duration food (rare veggie pizza) so all that confusion you’re stacking doesn’t drop off before the charges are consumed.

If stacking confusion is your goal you’re going to want to prioritize cond damage over power perhaps?

Hey mate,

well i think you will be disappointed but confusion is so not viable in PvE due to the low attack frequency of mobs.
They just dont attack frequent enough to make confusion viable. Most of your confusion stacks will be wasted tho, if it has to be conditions, which i highly not recommend, focus on burning bleeds and poison.

Generally its better to run a Power/Crit (Berzerker Gear) Build. Direct damage builds are the most viable builds, you will deal A LOT more damage in half the time it took you to apply conditions, 3k autoattack rifle crits for example, no condition spec will keep up with that damage.

But in the end its up to you, but your party, even if they might not tell you this, would be much more happy with a power/crit build.

Hello and thank you both for the replies.

That’s exactly what i feared, confusion being wasted on my target. Bawzdawg you are probably right, i’ll try to make something with zerker.

I find rifles extremely boring :P. I also find the confusion kits radius large enough even without the trait and confusion being useful. I might change that utility skill to the quickness potion. We’ll see.

What i want to define at this point is the gear and see if i can use my spare rampagers jeweleries.

So i was thinking, maybe i could make something like powernades.

It has some defense, mostly zerker and rampager focused more on precision.
How about something like this ?

Note: It needs might generation, which would help me to define the runes i want (%+ might duration) so the real question is, how can i stack might on this build ?
