P/p condi scrapper
Yea, I posted a similar build a few days back.
I think that cele meta scrapper is still king for conquest, but in Stronghold where your output (damage or external support) matters more than personal sustain, P/P condi can really shine.
Made a similar P/P build that I still have fun with.
Here’s the link:
I actually like the hammer + 2 tweaks to above build, for stronghold. The build does the most good on a node, and is downright op with the right team composition. I chose not to take ft anymore, used to use instead of slick shoes pre-hot. The ‘secret’ weapon is really the rune of the undead. With one trait swap, toughness not only gets stacked and mitigates damage, but it also improves dd and condi damage. It’s synergy with rabid is really nice. Expertise and that precision tho.
Im wondering about undead runes vs krait though, especially with the short cooldown elite… and i personally might use ft instead od slick shows
If you’re going in premade, then krait over undead all day. I thought the same, but running with no perma swiftness made me appreciate toolbelt on slick shoes, and the added cc is so clutch if getting focused.

What’s great is that they are both so stinking cheap, you can experiment all you want. I’m currently using Krait, because all you have to do is trigger your Mortar and you proc 8 seconds of Bleed, Poison and Torment.
Should work nicely with sneak gyro too
I’dd advice not using Wanderer’s amulet because expertise isnt working. Test it
Rabid is for now the way to go

Hmm…sounds like it would cause reveal.
Even if it doesn’t, I still think you’re better off with Balthazar runes since burning does so much more damage than other condis. That’s also why I wouldn’t drop FT for a condi build like this.
edit to correct I mistyped Hoelbrak runes when I meant Balthazar.

Hoelbrak with flamethrower…. then points out burning and down puts condi. All in the same small paragraph. So much contradict, such a small place.
Btw krait does significantly reduced damage, for 3s. The proc CD is 9s. I like krait, but it has adds no survivability and the dmg output is not high enough to offset.
Expertise does increase my durations, which is useless vs. cleanse classes, but nice against thief, DH, warrior. It has brought 2v1 into a different light as my condi are still procing when I go down. Definitely gotten the better of some downed spam 1 duels after my condi’s all tick another 4s when I’m down.
The ‘burstiness’ this build can induce into condi with rabid amulet makes using rabid very viable. The difference is 5% crit on wanderer’s. Only reason I use or mention it.

Sorry, I meant Balthazar. Got my runes confused for a sec there.

Pretty sure they stealth fixed it in a patch a couple days ago, since my conditions last for the duration the tooltip says with a Wanderer amulet equipped since then.
Are runes of Aristocracy not worth trying? They seem like the Condi version of Strength since we use HGH and condi damage it seems like they should work really well, no?

In open world PvE or WvW, yea, I could see that. They aren’t available in sPvP.

Yes they are, you just have to pay a few gold to unlock them. I think they were added with HoT.

Ahh, haven’t tried them yet then. They should be a pretty solid option then.

It is not fixed yet. Try testing it. Tooltip has always been showing the correct numbers, it just doesnt apply

I have tested it, on the enemies in the pvp lobby. How about you go test it to see for yourself that they fixed it.
Consider rune of the sunless, too. Fear+poison combined with stealth is a really powerful combo. I use it in my P/P Condi scrapper build I posted here last week with a video showing gameplay where I use the sunless rune to do some solid work a few times.
Cubones Mother – 80 mes
Jade Quarry [Uhhh]
I run this build with my scrapper, straight glass cannon. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?dAQJAqanUUBlYhlcBeeBEqiF2iiO4H+kH8DLxA4LpywDA-TJBIABAcCAkY/BjKD47DAAA If you know what you are doing however you should have no problem. Use sneak gyro to get in set up your combo, knock them down and watch them burn. If you need to get away use your shoes or tool kit and its block. Great fun…
Best of luck!
