Hey guys, I’m a returning player and looking for some advice on a build. Recently I made an Engineer and I’m trying to come up with a build that offers not only support but some DPS as well – in other words, the perfect build (I know, I’m a dreamer). As such, I’ve created a Bomber/Elixir build.
During the past few weeks, I’ve tried many different Engineer skills to find something I enjoy. I absolutely loved the bombs after experimenting with all of the Engineer skills and decided to focus on that. I decided to run with an Elixir-infused bomb build to remain supportive and tanky. However, I couldn’t figure out how to further go about the build to provide some some-what significant damage to hold my own as well. After going back-and-forth through the traits I settled on might stacking with Elixir’s since I use them so often in battles (hence, my build).
Here is the breakdown of my choices:
WEAPON:
Rifle – I’ve noticed quite a lot of builds prefer using the Pistol/Shield approach but in my experience, I’ve had a much smoother time with the rifle. The fact that the 4 and 5 skills can get me in-and-out of battle quickly AND cause damage on top of that is just too good to give up. Rifle skill 3 does some incredible damage and 2 works as a great stun against moving enemies (which is a real problem when using bombs).
SKILLS:
Elixir B/U – Both of these Elixirs are used for not only might stacking, but condition removal as well (see TRAITS). They both offer other offensive qualities as well (quickness, fury, retaliation, etc.)
Elixir H – Now I was going to choose Elixir H for might stacking/condition removal anyways but there are issues that lie with the other healing choices. I have found both Healing Turret and Med Kit to be disappointing in battle. The Healing Turret dies far too easy and the Med Kit is clunky. When using the Med Kit in battle, the skills 1-3 have incredibly low healing and are inconvenient (dropping them and then having to pick them up). Skill 4 in Med Kit is a great condition remover but it feels like it takes too long to use (is it just me?) and is interruptible. Skill 5 in Med Kit is a great escape tool but I already have plenty of those.
Bomb Kit – I think this one is obvious.
Supply Crate – I picked this as a default because the other Elite skills don’t seem remotely worthwhile.
TRAITS:
Forceful Explosives – Bigger radius = more range for damage/healing
Energized Armor – Every little bit counts but I’m open for suggestions
Elite Supplies – Since I chose Supply Crate as my Elite skill, it seemed the most logical choice but (again) I’m open for suggestions
Elixir-Infused Bombs – This build revolves around this trait
Fast-Acting Elixirs – Obviously needed for spamming more might stacking + condition removal
Cleaning Formula 409 – Conditions is a huge issue for me since I’m in such close proximity of the enemies, this is why I think this trait is key for running dungeons and bosses
HGH – (GDM)GIMMIE DAT MIGHT
EQUIPMENT:
Cleric will be the staple of my gear but I am pretty indecisive on what runes to run with.
