I came back after about 4-5 months and anet has changed the perplex to an extent giving them icd’s
I would like to ask is it still worth it to get em for WvW roaming purposes?
Comparing the previous perplex to the present one how far is it ?

What other condi rune is more worth it than perplex? And why please share :P
I have full rabid gear atm running undead.
I was thinking if i got full perplex the extra confusion can take em down faster.
Whats your take on this.

Best Condi runes imo this is across all classes. No particular order
Noble(if you get good might access)
Perplexity(if you have interrupts if not it’s probably still the best dps you can get but the drop off isn’t as bad if you chose one of the other runes)
Scavenging
I don’t like most on heal mechanics like scavenging or adventure. I like Noble better because the might stacks last.
yes adventurer runes for me 100% of the time for my build. i run protection injection and backpack regenerator and no vigor with an energy sigil.
perplexity if you run lots of interrupts. it’s still really good.
noble if you run battle sigil with enhance performance. many might stacks ^.^
scavenging gives a lot of condi damage and helps a lot with your sustain, especially if you run leeching sigil. the effects are extremely noticeable in 1v1s.
nightmare runes are amazing if you’re trying for 100% condi duration.
antitoxin is good because engis have kitten poor condi removal. the -22% condition duration on you is great. the might stacks can add up too if you run battle sigil and/or enhance performance.
i don’t really recommend undead even though lots of people do. its 6 piece bonus just gives flat condi damage, less than scavenging. only use it if you’re really, really, really poor because those runes are like 1 silver.
next patch is rune / sigill rework – don’t buy anything expensive now.

The nerf on the perplexity runes wasn’t big enough, they are still the strongest rune set in the game, imo, especialy for engineers.
I don’t like them personaly because they make fights too easy.
I’m experimenting atm with Runes of Antitoxin, to see how much -condi duration helps. So far, i’m quite satisfied.
Would like to test Runes of the forge at some point, but can’t be bothered with pve.
Perplexity is still insultingly strong to the point of being considered like a sore loser when using the set. Sold mines after 3h of WvW with it. I enjoy stomping people as much as everyone but this rune set is far too wrong and cheesy.
Disgruntled Charr Engineer and Thief – Jade Quarry.
It is foolish from a damage perspective in wvw to not use them with a condition build. They really are that much better than all other options for a kit based condi damage engineer.
Sure there are other decent options, but this one is exceptional damage.

I am all for honor and fair play, but letting others choose your gear for fear of being deemed “a loser” who “wouldn’t win” otherwise is giving your opponents too much power/control over the way you chose to enjoy the game. If you don’t want to use the set, all the more power to you, but never let others affect the way you play (otherwise you would never use thief, for instance, considering the numbers of complaints they get.)
