Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..
So on reddit you can see that_shaman datamined a bunch of specialization related images from the patch, that included some obviously delegated to elite specializations. He also found the name “Forge” near the engineer images, so it is highly possible that the name for the Engineer elite specialization will be Forge.

What do you guys think this could mean? Forge sounds like something that would wield a hammer, maybe like some sort of blacksmith type of character, but I have no idea how they’d really flesh that out in combat.

…
If you thought burning was stupid now…
Well the “preview” showed a guy using somewhat flaming hammer while wearing a metal welders helmet/mask…
I told you guys it’d be Forger :p
“Forgemaster” seems really likely right now.
Which is the name of the Rampager’s ascended set, incidentally.
So, the skills will likely synergise with that set. Hybrid power/condi, for sure. Power melee for the hammer with a whole lotta burning.
Dunno if crit procs play into that since base engie is already heavy on those.
A blacksmith theme with the drones seems like an odd combo initially, but then the welding could be more of a Robotics thing than a weaponsmith thing.
The type of engie that works on the Charr tanks and pact helicopters, perhaps?
well there also is this….
What the old artwork for the Tools traitline? Yeah there is.
Or could end up being a lot of burning but a trait that allows it to scale from power instead of condition damage as part of the base specialization would make a bit more sense.

I always thought power scaling DoTs were something GW2 did not have enough of, like Bleeds from WoW.
