So while I was playing around with getting together gear for a 100nades build (because the RNG gods have been giving me zerker gear, also I just love my rifle) I realized the nerf to kit refinement was eventually going to kill this build. Also I hate that its kinda a one trick pony.

So I thought about what other skills stack well with power and dmg, and since flame blast finally got some much deserved love this build is basically trying to see how high I can get it to hit.

So the idea here is to use all the high damage skills in each of the weapons (blunderbuss, flame blast, prybar) in a sort of rolling burst. Never really staying in a single kit for very long.
I haven’t tried it out (still gearing out) but flame blast should hit like a truck with 15% DM, 5% if bleeding, 5% from sigil, 5% from rune, 10% if full endurance.

Anybody try anything like this? I know some will say go full zerker, but I’m not super pro and like to have some survivability and find that ~2300 armor and ~20k health works for me

I run a ‘juggle all the damage’ build, but I don’t bother with alchemy or going 25 deep into firearms for 5% more while bleeding. Look at it like this – 30 into explosives gives you 50% more grenade damage, and the 2 and 4 are hard hitting, with the 2 being okittensecond cooldown! Between that and flame blast, that’ll eat up about 20-30% of your time alone, and it’s time well spent given the damage output. If you’re curious, 30/10/0/0/30 is what I run. Acid Bomb, Flame Blast, Shrapnel Grenade, Freeze Grenade, Grenade Barrage, Blunderbuss, and Jump Shot are all worth using (toss in a napalm before acid bomb for a well used blast finisher imho – and 10 seconds of burning, if that matters at all).

I actually tried something similar in WvW after the patch. Had some different trait, but overall it was similar.

It’s viable, you can kill people, especially if you open with Fire Blast and land it. Number 5 is also useful to blind interrupt when you stomp.

But I won’t use this build for anything else then a fun build.

Why? Give it a try and give me your feeling.

But I felt, and I was sad to feel that, that replacing FT with ether bomb kit or Grenade would have doubled my dps.

I just felt kitten with FT.

In Bombkit, Grenade kit and toolkit, every skill are useful. In some fight, I found myself only using 1 or 2 skill on FT, and not always efficient.

Sure Fire blast can hit for 4k damage. But sometime to land it, you have to “wait” to detonate it. You can’t switch kit until it detonate. I feel like I could just auto attack twice in the same time frame with rifle, and do as much damage. Without the AoE tho.

When it doesn’t crit, I found myself hiting for really low damage with a skill shot. It was also pretty buggy, If I used it in an uneven terrain or othe rrandom occasion, fire blast would go in the ground and disapear.

The number 3 push, it’s a useful ability. Wit the added burning damage it’s cool. But I prefer overcharged shot for the damage and longer KB. Still a good skill.

Number 5 is useful, but really low use. Only one AoE blind and long cooldown. I only used it to spike people, rarely in battle.

The number one auto attack miss too much, do low damage, and low range. I recommand never using it except maybe in big AoE fights.

The number 4 is really weak. Only useful for combo fight.

I could replace with others kits and do a lot better. I just felt kitten with FT.
