Rerroll ran a survey on the SPvP forum seeking player opinions on (t)PvP and the results are here (scroll to near bottom for two pie charts showing Class results).

Eng Summary:

• Which class is strongest?’ Eng scored worst with only 1% of votes (c.f. Warrior with 5%)
• Which class is weakest? Eng scored 2nd worst with 17% of votes (after Warrior at 46%)
• Which feature should be 1st priority? Improve game balance (27%)

Ya! It really was helpful. The survey mirrored a lot of things we’ve seen on the forums – but had it all in one spot.

It was also nice to see we have a good “read” on the playerbase – some of the things you guys rated as big issues are things we also consider to be our top priorities!

Here’s hoping this leads to ANet giving more attention to the Eng class.

we also hang around 1-2% within what people think about necromancers on both polls. So if this means we need love, so do they.

Also i think it would be good to note while 27% (at time you posted) people said balance should be a high prioirity.

The poll on “your feelings towards game balance” is hovering around 3-4 a more neutral responce than negative.

While I agree some decent changes to make more builds viable would be nice. I certainly don’t feel we’re the weakest class. Our hgh condition build is pretty kitten strong as most of the better engineers here can attest to although I do so hate being pigeon holed into it because it is our best build at the moment. Anyway I can agree warriors really need some love, and it good to see mesmers are ranked so low because I have felt for a long time that they are on the verge of being OP. Against good mesmers I have pretty much gotten to the point of throwing my hands up and running away.. and even that is hard to do with an illusionary berserker hitting you in the back for 5k+ while the mesmer in question is nowhere to be seen.

This merely shows that the community feels that Warriors, Necromancers, and Engineers are at the lowest end of the balance totem poll. Considering the Engineer is already getting more attention then most other classes, it seems things are going well. The only class that really needs to be concerned I think is the Warrior, because they are at the effective bottom and from my point of view is getting the absolute least attention.
