Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone!

So when GW2 first launched, my first character was a Human Elementalist. I didn’t really enjoy playing him, because they’re extremely squishy and hard to play with. So I decided I would eventually make a engineer once I leveled my ele to about 40. I’m curious to know how when selecting “the Universal Multi-Tool Pack, Eagle-Eye Goggles, or the Panscopic Monocle” actually effects your personal story? This character is going to be my main, so I really want to make sure I’ve done everything right. So could someone explain how these 3 things would actually effect your character and his personal story?

They do not affect the personal story, they just decide what starting piece you will have. Like elemental head gear for Elementalist, shoulders for Guardian and so forth. Just cosmetic.

The things that effect personal story

Asura: College
Humans: How you grew up
Sylvari: Dream
Charr: Legion
Norn: Something about protecting the mist or ancestors something like that

Just cosmetic.

I’d go backpack, its impossible to get otherwise in game IIRC.

I went for monocle though, I like it. Looks nice and cool.

Cosmetic, however you can get a monocle later one in the game. I have never seen a backpack or goggles other then what you get from this choice. So if you really the backpack or goggle looks you can keep them to transmute later on you level 80 gear.
