Question of kits
Wahooo and heya!
This heavily depends on where you are. For solo and open world, I wouldn’t, just stick to the ego buffer Flamethrower build.
For fractals and raids however, things are different:
I’ve made a list of all skills for power Scrapper. On the top right of that list you can see how much of a dps increase each kit offers over the bomb auto attack, wich is our strongest auto attack.
So aslong as you use bombs in a power build (team content), also use nades. Mortar is used for loooong range but mainly for the combo fields, heal, blind, chill and double blasty from OS (if traited, wich I suggest).
If you got any further questions, just aks, I’ll try to visit this thread a few times this evening

One other quick item. I rebound my special action key and I cant get my gyro to work for the life of me. Either I have no clue when to use it (most likely) or I broke it. Any clues?
Are you referring to Function Gyro? If so it’s triggered by having a rezzable or spikeable target and using the normal ‘E’ key or whatever you have for interactions. Special Action key is specifically for new HoT type things, when that extra button pops up over top of your f5 that’s the special action, not the function gyro.
As for kits, 90% of the time I have nades slotted, probably like 80% of the time bomb, then the last slot rotates quite a bit, FT for condi builds or if the group really lacks might it’s not bad. EG is great utility and power damage with a stun break, condi cleanses/heal, and Acid bomb for damage. Toolkit is not bad in condi or power builds for extra defense through blocks as well as Prybar which is good in both condi and power, then the pull can be used as well at times, I doubt you’d need it much running Scrapper with hammer’s block though.
Mortar is almost always on my bar for PVE, learning the blind rotation is huge engaging with Mortar4, unleash your initial damage and work in Smoke Bomb after that, then once that’s over rotate Flash Grenade and whatever else you have.
Stealth Gyro has little bits of niceness here and there though, like Dredge Fractal getting that last console to open the gate. And Elixir is entertaining turning things into Moa’s. A little trick you can use as well is dropping Supply Crate before fights start in a place it won’t put you in combat, then you can swap back to your Mortar kit or whatever you would normally use, the turrets will stay up and you’ll have your preferred elite. This goes for Stealth Gyro too which like at that Dredge fractal if you’re out of combat after you’re done needing it you can just swap back to Mortar.
Anyways, Bomb and Grenades are kind of the go-to kits for damage output, one or both will likely always be on your bar. That 2nd or third slot will depend on the situation. If you don’t like getting up and Melee’ing (at least give it a shot though, with blinds and different enemy attacks it’s often easier believe it or not) then you might drop bomb and go with Grenades and slot Elixir U and B for buffage, but you’re going to do much better damage with different combinations of melee range attacks.

Sorry, spent last day or two levelling Necro cuz Guild keeps crying for one (another one!)
Anyways…Ziggy! That math makes my head hurt! How do you guys do it….lol! But can kinda see what you are talking about. Right now just using nades and bombs and filling the rest with whatever is needed at the moment.
Working great so far. Thanks again guys, huge help!!!
This is a build ive been trying in open world, and i’ve been finding a good time playing it, perhaps you find it interesting, a 3 kit rifle build, very classic, hope it can help you inspire what you are looking for :P

Thanks for that!! Will go give it a go now. Cheers
And what do you think of any Hammer builds? While not a huge fan of the melee (me and dodging in this game don’t mix, lol) I am liking the damage the hammer seems to do. Some blocks and such in there as well so not to bad.

Scrapper in general is worse damage. You get a damage modifier, static discharge, and takedown round in tools that you lose with scrapper (as a side note also perma swiftness with Tools and Streamlined Kits). That said, especially for just general open world play, scrapper has defensive benefits including the hammer. So it’s not a bad choice.

Might work well, stability from dodges/bulwark gyro for those annoying enemies. Reflect on Bulwark toolbelt as well as Hammer2. Block with hammer4. Blast lightning fields for swiftness. And plenty of blinds with traited Mortar+ Bomb + Flash Grenade.
