Does Tool Kit damage register as ranged damage?

as i went to do some pvp
and facing some eles they kept spamming swirling winds to wich i had counterbuilt with tool kit but pry bar and auto attacks dint land at all dint even register as miss or evade or invulnerable flat out nothing face to face to ele and no i was not blinded as i also carry the googles with me

and no im not complaining i beat the eles in the end but this tool kit issue bothered me

(who knows maybe was lag, i have no guinea pigs to test things with so idk)

Probably just lag or some other bug. I am 99% sure it counts as melee damage. Would be really weird design if it registered as ranged.

pry bar and the smack chain are not ranged

they are definitively not ranged.
remember the 4 elite-guards in TA forward in that deadly bubbles?
I like to use toolkit #4 to simply run into them and smack the guards until they give in, because these bubbles destroy projectiles not only on their outer sphere, but inside as well.
My preferred method wouldn’t work if TK auto and #3 were registered as projectiles^^

I guess you either had lag, the eles had blocks (arcane shield / aegis) up, or you simply were slightly out of range.
