I notice a lot when I am moving while using this kit even in melee range the 1 (Flame Jet) skill tends to miss. Is there anyway around this or am I missing something?

You hit what your camera is facing. The flame jet is misleading.

Get in the habit of centering your camera before you start attacking.
And while you are attacking do not use right click to move your camera.
