Hey guys needing a little gear help. I’m finishing up my dire/rabid suit ankitten eeding a back slot with rabid stats. The only rabid ones I can find are just rare. Needing something exotic or higher. Back slots are a little funny to search on the black lion so do any of u guys know by name some nice ones to look for? Thanks in advance.

Best way to get back items is by running fractals. If you amass 1350 fractal relics, you can purchase an exotic back slot item from a selection of available stats, one of which is rabid. See: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Prototype_Fractal_Capacitor. With another 500 fractal relics, 24 skill points, and a vial of condensed mist essence, you can upgrade it to ascended. See: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Prototype_Fractal_Capacitor_. This is one of the cheaper ways to acquire such an item, though it will take time. You can further upgrade for some cosmetic changes, but it’s not necessary to do so for extra stats.

I believe you can also buy exotic guild backpacks from the guild commendation trader, but they do not have rabid stats and cannot be upgraded to ascended.

The other thing you can do is directly craft an ascended back piece in the mystic forge. This is generally more expensive, but can get you exactly what you want. One such thing you can craft is: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Endless_Quiver. There is also a version with a defensive infusion slot: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tome_of_the_Rubicon.

Alternatively, you can craft http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quiver_of_a_Thousand_Arrows or http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/There_with_Yakkington:_A_Traveler%27s_Tale. These items used to have magic find on them, but since that was removed from gear you are allowed to choose your stats when soulbinding these items. As such, you can make one and then select the rabid stats. This may be cheaper or more expensive than making the endless quiver or tome of the rubicon depending on material prices.

Lastly, you can craft one of the new ascended back pieces, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shadow_of_Grenth or http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Light_of_Dwayna, which also let you choose the stats when you equip them. However, these ones are quite expensive, so you should only make them if you want the skin. If you don’t care about the skin, the quivers or books are better to make in the forge.

You can get an exotic rapid spineguard after completing Cathedral of Zephyrs meta event by talking to the karma merchant. There’s also the exotic rapid backpiece from the merchant in fractal that you can buy with 1350 relics and then upgrade to ascended with 500 relics. You can make Tome of the Rubicon or Endless Quiver in the mystic forge (wiki them for the recipe). I can’t think of anymore right now but I’ll edit if I do.

Oh yeah, forgot about those. Haven’t needed to buy gear from the karma vendors in forever. That would definitely be the quickest and cheapest way to get one, although I don’t think you can upgrade those to ascended (assuming the OP even wants to).
