I’ve been using granade hgh build with rampager stats, full ascended and so far on wvw and on pve I can melt most stuff. I do die, but not really a lot.
Is Rampager a good stat for engi?(Power, cond damage, crit chance)
I always thought it was great cause lots of conditions activate on crit and I’m happy with it.
What do you think?

P.S. Down with Hobosacks!!

I would say rampager is more of a pvp build for engineers. Aside from stacking vulnerability and bleed faster, its still not as high dps as a normal zerk gear set in pve.

Precision as main stat is incredibly bad for anything that focusses on Condition Damage be it PvE or PvP. It’s true you’ll apply more Bleeding due to the higher Precision however conditions are applied by more than ‘proc on crit’ such as Confusion, which is applied by Prybar/Concussion Bomb and there is such a thing as too much Burning because it stacks in duration, any seconds/minutes leftover when the enemy dies, were useless. These conditions, along with your bleeds, will lose a significant amount of their damage because you don’t use Condition Damage as your mainstat, unlike a set such as Rabids. The added Power won’t increase your damage that much since Power, alongside Precision, doesn’t work well unless there’s an investment in Ferocity aswell. Landing a Critical hit won’t do much if you have no additional Critical Damage (Ferocity.)

All these things combined result in quite a damage-loss a few extra bleeds and power won’t make up. For these reasons I’d recommend to either fully focus on Conditions or on Direct Damage stats (Power, Precision, Ferocity) in any game-mode.

Engineers are likely best off in WvW with a set of Rabids because the extra toughness (alongside our rather good healthpool) will help survivability and the Conditions will do impressive amounts of damage to other players, how-ever it depends on what you face, so go by your own preference.

For PvE you’re always best of using a full set of Berserker/Assassin gear with Berserker Trinkets. In PvE you’ll often be fighting with 5 (or more) people, due to the way Conditions Work; with a cap on intensity conditions such as bleeding, which are easily filled by other classes due to unavoidable minor traits, and the duration stacking on other conditions like burning, along-side most mobs having a low action per minute, rendering confusion near useless in most situations. All these things prevent a Condition spec from performing well in PvE unless you’re always solo.

Pretty much what Esmee said. Overall with condition damage your dps will get lower than focusing totally on power precision and ferocity. The main reason to go on condition damage is because you can ignore power and focus on stats like toughness or vitality or precision if you have many on crit things. This gives you the “tanky” adventage in pvp / wvw. In pve it’s very useful when soloing champs on some classes, like Mesmer. I haven’t made the best expiriences with pve condi engi tbh. I’d say power works as good.
