I’ve got plenty of gold, karma and laurels and I was planning to invest in a build, but I’m not sure what I should go for in terms of equipment.

My intent was to make an all round build i.e. something I could use in WvW, PvP, etc.

Was thinking of leaning towards Precision, Condition, Toughness sort of build.

Any ideas?

I think Rabid gear makes for a good all around build and isn’t a huge hassle to get although due to the high toughness you’ll probably get targeted in raids so I’m not sure how practical rabid is in raids.

I was thinking Rabid equipment, what upgrades should I invest in do you think? Like sigils and that..

I like Knight equipment myself with my Hammer Scrapper. With Mass Momentum trait and Sharpening stone, I have 2600 power and 2600 toughness. I seem to do decent damage, high toughness plus Toolkit help against power builds, and Alchemy with Elixir C and Adaptive Armor help with condition builds.

I use sigil of energy as well as Adrenal Implant trait and food with endurance regeneration, so lots of dodges.

Honestly, the game is a lot more fun if you develop your own build though, rather than just copy that of someone else or from some website.

I know what you mean, just hard to make a final decision what to invest in.

I currently don’t have heart of thorns yet so I can’t use the scrapper stuff.

From experience as an engineer I feel that toughness or vitality is important, otherwise my health goes down to quickly without it.

Remember builds are different in PvP, WvW, PvE. You can try to use the same gear/build technically but you cannot bring your PvE gear into PvP or vice versa, and you’ll find no 100% coverage. Vit/tough is esp vital no pun intended in PvP but works differently, like Toughness in PvE gets threat; but not in PvP. So it’s not so easy to have one build/gear for everything. And again, no need given you aren’t using the same gear in every mode anyways, so cost wise doesn’t matter.

Also, you’ve not mentioned DPS heavy or support? Tank? Rabid can definitely work with condi builds but more open world/dungeons. Anyways it’s hard for me to recommend one build for everything thus; zerker, mara you hear a lot. Viper condi still is good on engis for PvP and PvE.

Geomancy and Torment are great sigils to invest in and for runes Im not 100% but I think Balthazar Runes are good.
EDIT: Sigils of Earth are great too.

It depends entirely on what your main weapon kits are. Single vs. multi (grenade) shot builds are radically different.
