So, in order to prepare myself for PoF, I thought I might as well craft myself an ascended pistol for an offhand weapon (Yes, I know PvP is the cheaper method, but I can’t be bothered for that and I want the satisfaction of crafting it). The problem is, i don’t know what stat set to choose for it. Any suggestions?

looking at the traits for hobosmith, its clearly a power focused class but it can have hybrid DPS as a few of the traits add a good amount of burning. Since pistol offhand also has a great amount of burning, I’d recommend Vipers or Sinister as both of those stat sets will help with both condi and power.

You are most likely going to run Shield for full power build or Grieving stats pistol for hybrid. Grieving stats is a part of the expantion tho, but if it is as costly to craft as viper I’d recommend making the cheapest stat version and then stat swap. If money isn’t a concern, get H.O.P.E for free stat swap when the expantion comes.

What is Grieving and how you get that ?

Grieving is Power and Condition damage main with Precision and Ferocity minor. It is a part of the expantion and we do not know how to aquire it yet.

From the looks of it the Holosmith and other more DPS focused specialisations have been built around the use of the new Grieving (power, condi, precision, ferocity) more than the current available stats.

A mix of ’zerker and sinister/viper stats would give you something similar until you were able to craft/acquire Grieving weapons and armour.

From a PvE perspective: I assume it would be either Grievering or plain Berserker’s (obligatory Assassin’s to cap crit-chance) But since it seems like we have a lot of passive burning from the Holosmith specialisation I think Grievering open’s up some very interesting paths … I know that as it is now I ll try something like full Grievering with explosives, firearms and holo. Possibly even taking the 33% burn-duration in firearms
