Regarding a Static Discharge sPVP build
My opinion… Rifle Discharge Build is a very strong WvW Roaming Build but in sPvP isnĀ“t it… the critical damage is to low and the most classes (no noobs) counter your attacks. I think the elixier gun is better than the rocket bots because the stun breaker save your life and you have more condi remove
I see. If it’s about stun braking, would goggles do the job? or slick shoes?

I’m not too much of a max-min kind of person. I like doing fun things that work well enough for me to have fun. Once I can’t win with this anymore, I’ll probably switch it out, but until then, I just want it to be as good as it can
Also, aren’t burst builds supposed to be good in sPVP, for taking out single targets? (I’ve been playing it for about 5 days, so…)

This is the basic S/D build I’ve been working with. The toolkit can be swapped out for battering ram, but I love have the pull and shield block from toolkit. Healing Turret out performs the Med Kit and with Rifle Turret and Jump Shot you’ll be able to get off a few finishers from the water field. As for Stun Break, Utility Goggles is a must for this build. No exceptions. It gives fury, immunity to blind, and breaks a stun. Then the toolbelt skill currently puts out a static discharge that can be used while cc’d, applies 10 stacks of vuln, and after patch will also apply 6 seconds of Reveal.
The Minegineer build in my sig is a variant of the SD build but brings the ability to strip boons and the deadly Overcharged Shot → Magnet → Mine Field → Detonate → Pry Bar combo. It’s less instant than using Rifle Turret but blowing up the Mine Field right on top of an enemy deals WAY more damage.
For PvP I try and focus on one target at range for a few seconds to build up Bunker Down mines at my feet and then Pull the target into them which with the Mine Field can lead to 10k+ damage depending on their build. Thieves hate it and they’ll often half kill themselves on your Rune and Evade bombs. If you feel at risk of being ambushed dropping the Throw Mine on top of yourself totally screws with their rotation and gives you time to land the combo stated above.
Is it the best build for PvP? Maybe not. Will it be fun to play? Yes.

Divinity Runes are really bad! Don’t use them! Go for Ogre, Strength, Hoelbrak, Pack, Pirate, or even Vampirism!
You need dodges! Put 10 points into Alchemy for Vigor! Dodging is everything in this game! Especially on a fragile SD build!
There is so much cc in this meta! You need a stunbreak, especially on a fragile SD build! Vee Wee would swap out Rocket Boots for a stun break! Utility Goggles will be the obvious choice for an SD build but Vee Wee absolutely hates that skill!
Vee Wee does not like SD builds! SD does no damage! Vee Wee crit a Thief for under 1k with it! Not good! But your build is similar to Vee Wee’s Gadget build! Check it out!

Speaking of S/D builds, do toolbelt skills that don’t target a player still have a hard time connecting the S/D attack that procs off of it?
Other than that, mines are crazy fun on a S/D build, especially when dealing with thieves. Mines provide area denial around you. Meaning a thief is putting themselves at great risk trying to melee you. Not to mention the damage of a mine field if you cc your opponent into one and just unload on him is great.
Keep in mind though that I only play S/D builds for fun in Hotjoin. I tend to get focused too much in arenas to play such a squishy build.
