Q:
Currently this is the skill description:
Fly forward, damaging foes with your rocket exhaust. Cures immobilized, crippled, and chilled.
Yesterday while I was on my engineer I noticed that it seems that after we trigger the skill we can still get immobilized, crippled & chilled while we are in air, is this how this skill works?
If so, it would be really helpful to give a better description of the skill, like when the outcome of the skill takes effect, right after it’s casted, while in the air or after landing.
Thank you!

Unfortunately, it is working as intended. Just like a stunbreaker breaks out of an active stun/knockdown/daze, if any of those conditions are reapplied immediately afterwards, you’ll be ‘stunned’ again.
Rocketboots doesn’t actually dodge/evade during or after its activation, so if there’s a persistent effect where you use it, you run the risk of getting hit with the chill/cripple/immobilize again. The worst part is many targeted skills will ‘track’ you until you land, even if you’re beyond its maximum range. It could be a lag issue, but it seems to occur fairly consistently.
Still – Rocketboots are still a great gadget compared to before. The built-in knockdown is something that always bothered me. Especially if they ever iron out the occasional weird ‘landing lag’ at the end…

I do really like how they re-worked the skill but I feel the damage outcome is just a way to handicap the skill and justify the Combo Blast, we have a lot of blast finishers with a big damage outcome.
I truly wish it was “occasional”
Only skills that include “evade” mechanics are immune to future conditions while traveling. Rocket Boots is simply a leap.
Is this ‘lag landing’ the bug where you get mysteriously immobilized after landing on Rocket Boots use?
I had that bug recently and it was during a PvP battle. I was mysteriously immobilized (no, I wasn’t actually immobilized via a debuff) until Rocket Boots came up again where I finally was able to move. Needless to say… the end result of the PvP battle was rather catastrophic.
I’ve become a bit gun shy of Rocket Boots since then.
Does anyone have bug that after using rocket boots in like ~20% cases my autorun just stops? Pressing autorun again turns it off, than I must use it again in order to move.

Yes, i think its a new bug.
As a side note, speed boosts affect rocket boot distance. With super speed, rocket boot distance is extended to around 1350 yards. Also, it’s really fun to create a wall of knockdown as you rocket boot your way into a middle of an enemy zerg after activating slick shoes and speed boost. [advisable only for tanky engineers]
until they fix stuns overall by giving stunbreakers a few seconds of making the user of the stunbreaker immunity to stuns (like 3-5 seconds) this will continue to happen. It’s the reason why even people in PVE get frustrated because the mobs time their stuns on you so they hit you over and over with a stun preventing you from getting up. What makes it worse is you can’t even use the trait to cloak because now that allows the enemy to stay aggroed so it’s basically useless.
I’ve used the invis elixir, the smoke bomb and this skill to fly by enemies while stealthed to pickup a chest before tho so stacking stealth is nice LOL
