SOAC Held what could only be called the first real shoutcasted tournament and it went amazingly well. Check out this post Game Thread for how it went! WE had a great time with an incredible setup. This Saturday will be for those who want to go again or if you didn’t get to go and want to go.

Great to see some action on the Engineer side. I think 5 engineers would be serious trouble for any profession.

Awesome! Just to make it clear this is next Thursday the 9th and Saturday the 11th. Didn’t want everyone thinking it was tomorrow the 2nd.

I would love to do this, but I don’t think I can commit to either time. 5 engineer teams are good and super fun, I’d recommend anyone to give this a try!

Well we have the other profession signing up. Engineers/Thieves/Guardians are all pretty bleak in terms of sign ups, but we have until Thursday!

How long is the tournament? Also, NERF is a guild of ONLY engineers. I always recommend them. They are mostly on Fort Aspenwood. I wouldn’t mind joining if it won’t take more than 45 min – 1hr.

It depends on how many custom arenas we can get the use of, I believe we may have two. If this is the case, than about an hour or two would be correct. Our goal is to pit profession vs. profession with the other groups tournament queuing.

If you can only do 1 hour, than that’s fine.

Also how do I get ahold of the guys from NERF? I have the Mesmer only guild, and Necro only guild leaders contact info.

Okay so two big notes of news. We are asking people not to stream the events to help push people to the shoutcasters to give them a chance at practice. You can record it and put it up on youtube later.

Secondly we are going to be grabbing some of the top tournament guys to lend their name to the teams and coach (not play) the players, to talk strategy, specs, and general coaching.

A new post is coming soon that will state more as to why!

We will do both. I am still looking to get a coach for Thursday since Ostrich is working during Thursday’s Event. But he will be doing Saturdays.

I would recommend contacting them as soon as you can, but there will be time before the event to meet up, and go over notes.

The event starts at 5:30pm PST/GMT-8 but we will do introductions a quick conversation with the coaches to make sure everyone is ready, and then setup the first two games.

5:30pm PST is 8:30pm EST ;p If you can be on by 8:45 or 9pm your time you could coach it

I was speaking with Supcutie about this and it seems that you would prefer higher ranked players to coach, and lower ranked players to play. Since I am relatively highly ranked (~20th on boards) would you prefer me to withdraw from playing and act as a coach/guide instead? It looks like we’ve had some additional signups, and I’d rather not deprive anyone a slot who is interested in playing. Thoughts?

Thank you for the heads up. Silven let me know the same thing yesterday, and moved to coaching the team. I pm’d you about the switch. We are still short one Engineer with you moving to coaching.

Apparently I’m a little late in saying I can do coaching on Thursday since I never even realized it was PST. Anyways, it still sounds like fun, so Ill be on to participate/coach tomorrow around 8:45-9:00EST. Can’t wait ^-^
