I am returning form a several month absence from this game, and I am finding that I am doing very terrible in SPvP now. What is the current meta build for engineers? And, what are your recommendations for good survivability and burst damage?

I’m getting pretty discouraged. I have been trying a lot of different builds, but no matter what i do, i get facerolled by other players of nearly all classes. I know engis are really good in PvP, because I see them doing well. If anyone could please help me out, I would really appreciate it.

The best Engi builds are condi and cele rifle!

For survivability you need to position yourself correctly! There’s a lot of cleave in this meta! Don’t be caught in the crossfire! Stay off the point unless you have to! Use your Gear Shield properly! Gear Shield is one of the best blocks in the game! Dodge big attacks! Watch and learn the animations! Then dodge! Watch and learn some basic rotations! Then dodge!

To do burst damage, learn some combos! A basic combo for condi Engi and one I love to do all the time is Magnet > Prybar > Swap to pistols for Geomancy proc > Static Shot > Wait for dodge then Glue Shot > Shrapnel Grenade! A basic combo for cele Engi is Magnet > Prybar > Overcharge Shot > Start running to your target > Throw Wrench > Net Shot > Blunderbuss > Grenade Barrage!
