The way cloaking device works currently is, when you get immobed, you go into stealth immediately but you’re still immobilized so your quite prone to getting nuke by AoEs pointed in your area.

My suggestion is to change that to “Toss Elixir S at your location when immobilized” this will allow synergy with traits like Cleaning Formula 409 allowing you to escape the immob by cleansing it automatically.

It’s pretty much what they did with Keen Edge on the Ranger and you can do it right now with Transmute but I just felt Cleaning Formula/Toss Elixir S would be better since it will be AoE stealth/cleanse.

I agree with this… I feel like every trait that produces an effect that’s almost identical to a skill should be affected by traits that affect that type of skill.

I think that could make it too powerful unintentionally. Toss elixir S will provide an AoE stealth, meaning it can affect more than one person, potentially cleansing a condition from all of them and giving them might. I can’t recall if potent elixirs functions with toss elixir S, but that could also result in a longer stealth duration.

Cloaking device also has a much shorter cooldown than toss elixir S (less than half), so if they made this change they would likely make the cooldown for cloaking device the same, or possibly longer.

Besides, combining the proposed changes may not have the desired effect. It may simply clear off a single bleed stack and leave you immobilized.

I think it will be fine as is. kitten stealth on a 25s cooldown is actually more potent than many thief and mesmer stealth sources, so it’s fair that it has its drawbacks (i.e. being stuck in immob for it).

The only thing that kind of annoys me about it is that it sometimes procs when a projectile you just shot is mid-way to it’s target, so you get immediately revealed. Kind of the same issue thieves have with their automatic blinding power at low health.

Trait is ok at first, but most skillfull players by now know: the engi is still there anyway so it achieves nothing.
