Scrapper WvW Solo/Small group roaming build?
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Automated Medical Response is on waaaaaay too long cooldown since it got nerfed. I would highly recommend Autodefense Bomb Dispenser instead as its a lifesaver when roaming vs gank zerker builds that try to stunlock and kill you quick.
Personally I wouldnt recommend the hammer for roaming either, I find pistol/pistol much better. It’s too easy to get kited on the hammer, the more ranged players you meet at the same time (ie 1v2, 1v3) the worse it gets. Since I started playing my p/p scrapper roamer from HoT release I have meet like one hammer scrapper that could give me a real challenge – and that was after a ~3 minute dance of death that could have swung either way. But still, personal taste.

what traits for P/P ? I tried alchemy tools and firearms but it seemed to me much weaker than hammer scrapper . I suppose toolkit is a must with p/p for the block so i thought you had to take tools also. if you don’t take firearms you have no damage. If you don’t take alchemy you have no way to deal a condi burst …. if you take firearms, alchemy and scrapper you don’t have speed… so my question is … how to go P/P ?
This is the build I currently use for roaming. No, toolkit is not a must (though its good in general and I often swap for it depending on the situation). Dont need alchemy either.
I used to run all gyros, but elixirgun is somewhat better towards perplexity builds and necros in general (purge gyro simply cant keep up).
how can you manage a necro in 1 vs1 or a condi spec without alchemy ? with medic gyro and no elixir C or purge Gyro you have no condi remove ( except eg 5 and triggering it but it is really weak against a condi burst )

If its roaming, you can just outrun any Necro. No need to lost time trying to down them.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

You manage it slowly and from as much distance as possible. Getting them down to ~50-75% hp before they even enter rs/ds and get close to you is ideal. Necros and reapers have a tendancy to become very predictable 1v1, first dropping their ranged condi bomb then going into rs/ds. If you can survive and counter that, most will panic as they return to normal hp and watching it melt away. This type of fight is where hybrids shine because you need a little bit of everything to kill your foe – too much condi and you kill yourself, too much power and the necro will probably facetank it while plowing into you because you sacrificed too much toughness.
Alchemy is very possible to run with instead of inventions, sure. I do it when I go hammer frontline. The “problem” is that on a high crit build, bunker down become so powerful it’s hard to replace it. You would also limit yourself to getting speed from somewhere else.
Either way you build, you’re not going to get every perfect trait.

Very similar to my build. Except I use Traveler Runes for constant 25% Speed and take Alchemy in lieu of Inventions.
Travelers, along with Sigil of Agony and Smoldering (and food) give me a Burn and Bleed duration of 87%. Bleed is much underrated (imho).

Here’s what I use and I’ve been having fun with, making a few changes depending on the situation. I swap out bulwark gyro for elixir S between camps, or toolkit when I need to get away from an incoming zerg. I’ll change out the Knights armor for celestial as I get the mats for it.
As for food, mango or peach pies, or roasted lotus root since those sentries love to stun you. For the utility slot, I have a tin of fruitcake. Same as a sharpening stone, but boosts karma Instead of experience.

Just for grins, you might want to also try the super cheap Superior Sigil of Speed.
After a kill, it gives you around 100 per tick of healing for 20 seconds – and it stacks per time. Coupled with Rapid Regeneration, Mango and Backpack Generator you can see around 320 or so per tick of heal (depending on your armor). Great in PvE (Pocket Raptors can give you 2 min of Swiftness), not so much in WvW….
the problem is that i think that classic hammer builds now are stronger than pistols.
Thanks everyone
