Scrapper builds
Given that there’s only bits of info been released my build theorycrafting has been somewhat limited, having said that, il be using a hammer…. Haven’t thought much past that.
I was thinking about something super defensive:

Sources of heal:
- Bunker Down: Perma Regeneration and Med Packs, every 2 seconds
- Swiftness and Super Speed Healing
- Backpack Regenerator
- Automatic Medical Reponse
- Engergy Amplifier (250 bonus healing power while under regeneration – perm)
- Steam Pack
- Healing Turret (or Heal Gyro)
Melandru Runes + Last minror trait = 50% stun duration reduction.
In other Hand you can go CC-Burst:

With last minror trait and mesmer runes we have our daze Duratuion increased by 48%.
Now by using: Thunderclap → RocketCharge→ LunchPersonalBatteringRam we are inflicting stun and 4 dazes which means… 25 stacks of vulnerabilty and 40 seconds of weakness.
Even before you can use double Orbital Strike, which will be secured by Thunderclap CC combo, and then finished by hammer 2# and SD Rifle turret quick burst. Very risky, but may be awsome in practice.

You don’t actually have swiftness in that build, dude. Except for passive Elixir B proc.
Mecha Legs for movement speed will not trigger the regeneration from Rapid Regeneration

I do not have a build quite figured out yet, but I think this may be my starting point. A nice hybrid bruiser.
I was thinking somewhat along the lines of modding the marauder rifle to make the equivalent of a soldier’s build with more damage. Possibly something like this:

In the scrapper line you’d take recovery matrix, rapid regen, and adaptive armor
Yes you lose a bit of damage from explosives but it may be well worth it for the increase in survivability. Could also sub egun in for nades and have a strong point fighter. Not sure if anyone has any improvement ideas on this build, feel free to share if you do.

I’ll be using hammer and either Blast Gryo (for the daze/knockback and aoe superspeed), bulwark gyro ( for aoe projectile reflection and damage mitigation) or shredder gyro ( to combo mortar and for extra lightning field).
I’m also thinking about using Grenadier instead of Glass Cannon in Explosives because I don’t know how useful Glass Cannon will be.
I also can’t decide between Stabilization Core or Recovery Matrix because I don’t know how often I’d use Function Gyro. Plus Expert Examination looks really good too but Mass Momentum… And its a chore trying to choose between Adaptive Armor and Perfectly Weighted. IDK how viable this’ll be but it will sure be like a tank, too much armor and too much firepower XD
Though the problem I see with this build is that there is no way to clear condis and no stun breaks

Right now, the rune is the biggest question. Options:

-Elementalist
-Flame Legion
-Balthazar
I am liking flame legion the most so far.
Shocking speed, Rapid Regeneration and Adaptive Armor are all obvious choices. But depending on the meta, I may bring a gyro or two along and adjust the scrapper traits accordingly (Stabilization Core, Expert Examination, Final Salvo).
Frontline(disabler) Scrapper

1 Utility Slot = Bulwark Gyro (Toolbelt reflect) or Blast Gyro (for AOE Superspeed)

Lots of swiftness for passive healing
Fury up cause of Rune, Hidden Flask, reactive lense
Turret for good heal, condition cleanse and waterfield
Slick Shoes for stability eater and Super Speed (healing) and Stunbreak
Elixirgun for stunbreak, regeneration and Conditions -> Boons and mini Slick Shoes on Speedy kit proc
Crate for more Stun and heal
With Adrenalin Implant you have Endurance reg for more Stability from perfect weight. Maybe switch that with Kinetic charge for double superspeed or double med pack.
