I know it’s a non-issue but it’s been bothering me ever since I first saw it.

What do you think of the new Scrapper icon?
I feel that it doesn’t really fit the Scrapper, sure it’s got a hammer, but the icon doesn’t feel engi-like at all. I liked the sawblade icon from the beta much better plus other specializations have a more thematic icon and not just one focused on their new weapon.

It reminds me of a judges hammer. :p Maybe a little sharper edges would make it better.

You could argue that at the moment scrapper specialization is the hammer…

Why not make it look like a wrench, like the fixer upper

I think it might be the worst class icon in GW2. I’d rather they just reuse Perfectly Weighted’s icon if it has to be a hammer.

I think it’s terribad.

The hammer icon isn’t a good choice, because you can also use the scrapper traitline without using the hammer.
It is more a defensive traitline and no only hammer traitline.

I prefer the old circular saw blade icon. I also have noticed that they no longer use the new icon anywhere but the character select screen, making it harder sometimes to tell if other players are using an elite specialization or not.

You can still see them in PvE.

They said they changed the sawblade because people were confusing it with the tempest icon, but that seems so stupid that I can’t think it’s the truth.

Yeah its really lame, I second the motion to make it look like a wrench like the Fixer Upper. Also one of my less-informed guildies kept calling this enemy scrapper a warrior in WvW. I had to explain to him multiple times “No thats an engi” he was like “isnt that the new warr spec icon?” was kinda funny but sad at the same time.
