hello fellow Engineers,
i recently dinged 80 on my engineer, and i wanted to share my healing / support build for constructive feedback/suggestions.
build is the following:

i use full cleric gear with sapphire orbs in my armor.
Elixir H can be switched with turret or medpac incase needed, but i like the extra toolbelt elixir skill to remove conditions.
elixir C can also be change with eg elixir R or S when u know u got a chance to get stunned.
in most dungeons i start with static shot ( pistol 3 ) while getting close, when close and with allies, switch to elixir gun for the free super elixir, use toolbelt 2 healing mist.
Then switch to bombs for aoe bomb healing, and every 10sec switch to pistol again for static shot, then elixir gun for the targetted super elixir, and back to bombs for aoe healing.
works like a charm in most scenarios ( trash or bosses where melee is good ), but i allways tell people to stay in range when possible for the aoe regens and aoe condition removals.

A healing build can be decent due to the large amount of aoe regen from healing turret and elixir gun with refined kites and the ability to do 2 blast finishers in a water field with shield and healing turret.
spending 30 points for bombs heal actually isn’t very good since even with over a 1000 healing power they only heal for around 240 a bomb.
Guardian symbol healing is just far superior for meele range healing and they have shouts for condition removal.
Elementalists can also apply team regen and condition removal for 1 trait and swapping to water attunement as well as do use water fields.
The engineer has to rely on skill shots with elixirs for team cond removal outside of healing turret overcharge so all in all going support engi just can’t perform up to the level of other classes.
i found that healing turret gets destroyed a bit to much/to fast for my likings in dungeons, thats why i took Elixir H.
perhaps i can make faster use of the detonate and cleansing burst.
lemme try that in the near future
but indeed, the more blasts you get the more extra healing is possible.

if i look good when using healing turret, i would have 4 Blast finishers to use within the super elixir water field.
Big ol’ bomb + turret detonate + magnetic inversion shield skill + supply crate.
gonna try that tonight when running dungeons.

Retaliation is a great tool for you and your allies, but I think, since it stacks with the power of the boon-applying player, you may not be seeing a very satisfying result.

Bombs heals are very low. Are you sure that 30 points in inventions worth it?
Well, bomb healing should also be judged by the frequency with which you can deploy bombs. Quickened bombing lays out some nice burst. Add that to the damage you apply, the fields you create and the control you can put down and you get a pretty well rounded utility.
It all adds up. Backpack regen for some solo work is fun too.
The issue with Bomb Healing is it has to be kind of low because it has the capability of being spammed.
Funny thing, this is almost the exact same build I’m running on my Engineer now.
I have Medkit instead of Elixir H for more healing and instead of Energized Armor I have Protective Shielding and instead of Formula 409 I have backpack regenerator. I plan to get full cleric’s stuff eventually

In AC\CoF it’s all about speedruns and a decent DPS party kills bosses faster then they can do any damage.
In arah it’s either easy mod faceroll bosses or lupi where you all need to scatter and stay as far from each other as possible.
In higher level fractals it’s the same as arah. Heal on crit food mitigates regular damage, while agony one-shots you anyway.

Thanks for sharing your build. I have to agree that bomb healing isn’t just simply about the bombs. It’s also about the damage and conditions and fields. It’s too bad people aren’t more open minded about builds in general.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. In this game, the best defense is a good offense. Toughness and vitality have so little benefit in comparison to crit chance and crit % that it is ridiculous. It is the games biggest flaw in my opinion.

Err you forgot that the elixir Gun has the green spray shot that removes Conditions? One of the best ways imo. Only downside to it is that it does not remove conds from yourself. :S
