Short-bow and Long-bow Elite Spec?
an electric/explosive short bow, with mines/booby traps could work
Short bow for engie: think on Hawkeye trick arrows , with explosives, electricity, sonic effect and the like, but every one has a different timed effect. If you get to make the timed effects happen at the same time, you get another, extra effect, which varies depending on how you combine them.

Bow with “attachment” mechanics(via utility/kits that change bow load out)could very much work it makes me remember the Charr personal story stuff the npc choice has Reeva the engineer using longbow in parts (the beginning) and shortbow in other parts of the story if you observe the character? Could be an idea they’ve had floating around for a while. Could be interesting. Feels like there would be too much thief shortbow overlap stylistically though. I think something more magitech oriented could have more flavor.
