Im thinking of making Viper gear and berserker runes for my engi.
Is there any reason to keep my old Sinister + balthazar runes?

The only question you have to ask is whether you do better with burns or bleeds or both. If you do better with both craft Viper’s, if you do better with burns stick with Sinister and Balthazar, if bleeds stick with Sinister and go Krait. Simple.

its engi so yes.

you put out about about 8 really useful condis and heavily depend on 2 for most of your damage. having lots of general condi duration is really good.

You’ll need a mixture then of Viper’s and Sinister’s but fundamentally you can just build Viper’s.

Remember that transforming an ascended piece into another is cheaper than making it from scratch.

Also remeber that Ascended doesn’t give you so much when your build is condi.

Finally, don’t forget the Raid needs both Condi and Power dps. If you can, make 2 sets and carry them on the inventary, so you have more flexibility during the run.

Wahooo!

If you really want to max out your damage, yes, then go for Viper stats + Berserker runes with Malice and Geomancy (Earth for ranged) sigils.
