Sigils: dual wield/2h
Because they still haven’t, in all this time, made 2h weapons get 2 sigils.
Greater combat maneuverability while retaining some enemy control thanks to Jump Shot, Overcharged Shot and Net Shot.
But then it goes down to playstyle vs min-maxing which is a horrible thing to choose between.

exactly what im thinking.
Do kits get two sigils if you’re dual-wielding Sigil’d weapons? If so, that’s probably the only thing I’ve heard of that might possibly explain the Grenade Kit’s nerf.
Yes, both sigils take effect if you are dual wielding. So if you have one that casts lit on crit and one that casts freeze on crit then you will hit enemies with both lit and frost every once in awhile when you crit.
From my testing it seems that the sigils do not stack, so theres no use having 2 sigils of ice on your pistols for example.

That…could maybe, just maybe, be what they were thinking of, then – still doesn’t seem right. Can’t be -that- strong.
some do, some don’t I think.
not really sure how it works.
well, a proc on crit and a proc on swap definitly work well together (sigil of str and battle for might stacks for example). i want this on my rifle too!
its really a big problem for me, as im 2 weeks away from The Predator …
All sigils share a cooldown. So no crit and swap sigil together. It’s stated in the wiki and I also tested this.
Maximum output for me is now for example 1 sigil of fire, 1 sigil of accuracy (5 % more crit) and another weapon with sigil of perception (10 precision for every kill till 25 stacks).
I used the rifle before, but why would I go without a flat 5 % damage increase or crit or more condition duration etc.?
This is a bit stupid.

It’s kind of funny though… The most popular weapons for most classes seem to be:
Warrior: Greatsword and Rifle
Guardian: Greatsword and Staff
Ranger: Greatsword and Shortbow
Thief: Shortbow and Dagger/Dagger
Engineer: Rifle
Necromancer: Staff and I dunno, but it’d be Something/Something
Mesmer: Staff and Greatsword
Elementalist: Staff or Dagger/Dagger
So few combos seem to dual-wield despite the lack of a second sigil. The base effects on the 2h weapons are a bit higher to make up for the lack of an off-hand weapon. Would a second sigil and other mathematical compensation be welcome? Of course. Necessary? Only for Engineer (because kits are going to be balanced around having access to two weapons.)
Because the Rifle isn’t just a missing sigil slot…
Lv80s: Guard, Thief, Necro. Renewed my Altaholic’s card on the HoT Hype-Train. Choo choo~

Those something/something necros are a kitten to deal with.

Isn’t it diminished or shared or something though.
So if one is 60% chance and the other is 30% than its actually only 30% of the left over 40%.
Or something like that!?
I really have no idea and get confused everytime I try to figure it out.

ICD is shared on them… So You could only proc the Sigil 1 time before it goes on cooldown. Sigil of Ice, whether you have 1 or 2, will still only give you a maximum uptime of 3 seconds of chill per 10 seconds.
+5% Damage and +5% Crit sigils don not stack with themselves, but do stack with each other.
+10 Stat sigils don’t stack with themselves.
+10% Duration Sigils do stack fully though. Go figure.

Sigils do not work like this. On my Ele having D/D and a proc on swap and on crit only the last proc will work and puts other into cooldown. So if you crit and then swap attuments that proc on swap will not fire off. Best is to use a proc and then a +% rune on other.
Can you make sigils or were do you get them?
You can craft them via the various weapon making professions or you can buy them from the trading post.
Until kits are affected by weapon damage we’re better off dual wielding. For me it looks like that 1 handers have lower damage and having 2 sigils while dual wielding balances 2h vs. dw somewhat with 5% crit or damage.
It’s also clearly a bug that you can keep either power/prec/condi stack once you swap weapon out.
