Guild Wars 2

I started playing GW2 yesterday and of course I had to play an engineer. But after I had played for some time I noticed the skills and skillpoints system, and it got me thinking that maybe I am unable to get every skill. I tried searching on the GW2-wiki, but I only found “prices” for each tier of skills, and then I noticed that the last elite skills cost as much as 30 points., and with 220ish (correct me if I’m wrong here!) skill challenges and 75 it all ads up to 300 points.

So I was just wondering, will I be able to unlock every skill for my class with every skill challenge and skillpoints from leveling? And if not, is there some sort of “respecc” function?

You can get all the skillpoints, you gain them constantly throughout each zone. Then if you havent unlocked them all you can go to other zones outside your level and unlock them there. You will have alot more than you can ever use.

Traits on the other hand are your ‘spec’, so are limited.

You have enough to unlock everything yes.

But I’ve still not unlocked mortar.

You continue gaining skillpoints for each (non-increasing) level interval above 80, so the number of skill points you can have is in fact infinite. There are items for crafting legendaries that you buy for upwards of 200 skill points.

I just unlocked my last class-based profession at lv 77 and I didn’t go out of my way to do skill challenges so yeah, you can. Not only that but as people already said you keep gaining skill points at level 80 through experience.
