So... Unique group enhancement?
Since they can get boons I’m guessing they can take damage as well. They will probably just die to fast from AoEs and then go on a 60 sec cooldown like some of our turrets.
So far alacrity with chronomancer is the only such new shared boon that’s pumped out by an elite spec. And it’s kittening great. Meanwhile resistance sharing isn’t very widespread and neither is slow application, which chronomancer are again the masters of, while revenant has some in a slightly limited way.
There’s super speed technically with tempest and herald, but it’s pretty limited, and scrapper appears to be getting some group superspeed as well. The devil will be in the details, but I postulate that arenanet ran out of new, fresh, and innovative support mechanics after designing chronomancer and revenant.
Hopefully scrapper gets boon hate somehow, there isn’t nearly enough of it for how boon dependent this game is, and none of the HoT content is bringing it aside from corruption/Mallyx.

I would like to think that A-Net has learned from enough fromTurrets, Pets and Minions to not repeat ALL of the same mistakes.
We will find out tomorrow though.
I’d just really like a reason for someone to say, yeah that’s something an engi brings to the table that noone else can. (besides the concept of can do a bit of everything, but not quite as well).
Welp, our unique group buff turns out to be superspeed.
Other classes can apply it rarely to themselves, but I guess we’ll be the masters of group-buffing with it.
Move on, scrap.
Pretty sweet idea imo. Super speed can come in handy in numerous amounts of play whether in a group or solo.
The idea of being support engineer moving swiftly around the field with my elixir gun and gyros just sounds so nice.
