You silly penguin, flamethrower is a utility kit made to attack utilities like minions, not players!
Seriously, cone is massive and needs reduced, then we could maybe see 5 targets or a dmg/range buff

think when your in that situation where your wanting to hit mass things your supposed to be using the bomb/nades.

Unfortunatly the FT in GW2 is not the weapon to go charging in with.
Switch to FT when you get someone downed or your weapons are on CD, use it for to drop down a Flame Wall, Knockback a melee and get a Flame Blast Detonate.
Only use Flame Jet to tag enemies or slowly burn a downed enemy.
When you get stunned switch to FT to use smoke.
Spam Flame Jet when running through zergs to tag lots of enemies.
Lord Aargadon is right, FT is more about utility than damage.
Also FT used to go great with Grenade Kit, but KR was an integral part of the pair.
So with the FT ICD the combo is kinda ruined.
I use flamethrower all the time, I keep moving around the targets to line them up the best, and I run a condition/bunker build that profits from critical hits. Getting those on five enemies instead of three 20 pulses for each skill use would sure make me happy, but I don’t feel impaired without it.

Putting the discussion on damage and max targets aside for a moment, I love the massive cone on the flamethrower. For me, that’s the hook that makes it so cool (see what I did there) to use! I’d like very much it stay for the life of the game.
However, I’d not be opposed to the introduction of a “slider” to adjust its exhaust. When fully throttled, the cone could be short and hit five targets for higher damage a fewer number of times. On the other end of the bar, it could be as it is now.
Just throwing that out there.

Yeah putting a slider would be awesome in helping me live my pyromaniac dream! too bad it seems too complicated for what the current skills are capable of
While it’d be nice to hit 5 targets instead of 3, narrowing the cone would probably just make it even harder to hit your target. As it is, the kitten thing misses moving targets enough to annoy the crap outa me.
