I probably dont be first who discover it but I think its for us a bit advantage while carrying orb.
Super Speed negate slow effect and it works together with Rocket Boots so we can rush with orb like ele with RTL in the past.

Well I think they need the rtl with the orb because it made the ele invulnerable when Thayer did it they could get so far with out being stopped rocket boots however you can still be stunned mid air and immo crippled still pritty op but I’d say when people start getting used to it it won’t be such a big deal imo making a engineer for orb running means you Arnt going to have an over large tank, but if anet does decide to neerf it I think they should least wait and see how it effects matchs in the future to see if people have adapted to it or it is infact over powered

On Spirit Watch (the spvp map) there is a central orb that the other team/your team can grab and bring to one of the points to score points for your team. When you’re carrying the orb you move 50% slower and cannot stealth or gain swiftness. The super speed “boon” that you gain from slick shoes actually negates this debuff and allows you to run double speed in combat and rocket boots just send you flying forward. Super speed affects rocket boots more than swiftness to send you even farther.

Only problem: We are using 2 skills… and super speed has already a bit longer CD. So it’s fine.

Besides: Nobody cares about Spirit Watch. They are not even planning to bring it back to tournaments and in boring hotjoin nobody cares… cause it’s all about farming glory.

I believe there is still a hidden speed cap that is impeding SS’s double movement speed effect, however the ability to negate combat movement reduction and impairing effects is a huge oversight in this particular instance. If this were to be balanced without breaking skills like RB and SS the orb needs to completely over ride SS and block the use of RB somehow. In my opinion it would be a little much to go out of the way and completely tailor an orb just to combat certain utility skills, when they could simply disable utility skills while holding it to prevent any particular class from gaining an edge over exploits. This should promote team efforts to secure the orb, even if it does push one individual into the role of a soldier set.

Im okay with this being fixed as soon as they make signets and trait speed buffs follow the same rule, but this should be moved to the spvp forum as it belongs there and will get more attention.

This is sort of along the same line as passive move speed buffs. For instance, a warrior will move 25% faster if they have the warrior’s sprint trait and using a melee weapon while holding the orb. Given that super speed will last for 5 seconds (or 7 seconds with toolkit KR), it’s probably something you’ll only really be able to do once on your way to the node.

I guess it would make sense for rocket boots not to work with this though.

lmao someone is sore at losing at hotjoin….

super speed has always worked like that being able to counter the effect of the debuff, just because engi can combo it doesnt mean its an “abuse”, if you consider this an abuse then what would sword/GS rangers be on that scale

it’s sad just because 1 class is able to do something, its suddenly an abuse
