Stability help
Maybe you need to read descriptions of traits, not just it’s names?
Seafarer’s Rest (EU): Liicher (Engi), Lii Cher (Warrior), Swf (Elem),
Licharr (Guard), Lich Eir (Ranger), Alt Fh (Thief). Lii Cherr (Mesm), S Wf (Necr)

Dat_negative_attitude, im following ur messages. Im actually enjoying that u have been raging for several hours now xD.
Now to the question, stability. I think is quite a problem for Engineers. i use the toolbelt skills from elixir S (Random tho -.-") or elixir S itself to avoid massive CC.

AFAIK only elite Mortar grants good stability, which obviously is not going to cut it in the middle of open field battle.
Oh, I think shield #4 blocks any knockback hits.

Yes. I aswell find the raging justified.
But we don’t really have a good stability option. The only one is throw elixir S, but again we have to be luxky to get it, because you know.. RNG makes it ‘fun’…
I would look for other ways to survive crowd control besides stability. Throw elixir S is 50/50 and mortar is not a good way to survive a melee beating.
Shield 4 only blocks projectiles, so it’s useful against rifle engineers’ cc but that’s about it.
Make sure you have a stunbreak (elixir S and elixir R being our better ones) and use it when you think you’re going to get locked down and focused. Or, use flamethrower 5 while you are stunned. Or, take a bunch of knockbacks of your own and fight fire with fire. Try to predict when people are going to lock you down and dodge, or try to learn the animations of some crowd control skills that give you trouble.
I guess originally we didn’t get that many stability skills because we had it 100% uptime on juggernaut. But when it was removed our main method of stability got it hard. So now …tossing elixir s and hoping for it is probably your best bet :/
Am just now getting to this Engineer trouble…on a JP that has lots of winds…phooey
I’m finding really annoying that launching, knocking down.. etc are the FotM AI skills so far.. that’s even worse if you try to blast the enemies with bomb kit..
I’m using elixir gun toolbelt skill for stun breaking, and I find it really usefull.. how ever I hate when you use it in the flight part of the launching and it’s wasted until the whole animation ends..
There are other professions that lack stability as well..(my poor necro flying around comes to my mind, but at least elites can give you a break) I’m only really comfortable in closer range with my guardian actually.
I think stun breakers should break the whole launch/knock down process or if not, maybe stability should be more reliable for the professions in general.

Enginners must have there own guardians for stability.
Oh I was surprised to see I had already replied O.o ha but anyways since we dont have access to stability or stealth we just gotta rely on our traits to pull for us. Lucky for us we got stabilized armor and protection injection.
And jan try elixir s on that jp. worked for me.
Lol that nobody mentioned Thumper Turret toolbelt Rumble
since it also is a stunbreak i find it somewhat useful for getting out of those aetherblade stunfields, but even with 30 in tools its still like a 35 second cooldown.
If I really want a lot of stability I’ll roll elixir X, it doesn’t root you like the mortar, and with the last update to rampage is decent, even if you get tornado you can still tag a ton of mobs.

^This. If you absolutely need it Elixir X is there for you.

Elixir X is there for you, until a smart mesmer rips that boon.

Stabilized Armor with Protection Injection offers you a -50% damage taken when stunned or knocked down. It might not be ideal but it makes you very tank like when knocked down/stunned.
In other words, you have to spend trait points that could be spent elsewhere in order to get the engineer’s best mitigation. How about adding stability to some skill and increase build diversity?

You don’t have to do anything, however i did that because i was being knocked down and stunned by warriors to the point i was barely able to do anything. Sometimes i just put on a stun breaker and only take one of the traits…but our stun breakers are relatively poor IMO.
