Starting engineer build/weapon help
Hello,
I’m not a vet engineer, but I love the class and I have 2 of them. I’ll try to answer your questions with my limited knowledge and others may correct me if I’m mistaken (would love to see some feedback from more experienced players as well).
1. It depends on the aim of your build. I have a condi and a power engineer, with the condi one I use dual pistols for its skills apply a variety of conditions, for the power one I use rifle.
2. Again it depends on your build. For example, for my condi engie I went for explosives (3,2 [I hate the bomb kit],2) first, then firearms (1,1,3) and tools (2,1,2). But it would be better if you first tried all your weapons and utilities and settle a playstyle that suits you, then you can go pick and mix the traits that would improve it.
3. They are, specially if you are a condi one and know how to maximize your rotation for the top damage. But as you said, its one of the hardest, if not the hardest, rotations in the game.
4. There are a few sites that are very known to players, metabattle, dulfy, the official forums and youtube. Some things may be outdated, so you’ll have to pay attention on the dates in which they were posted. I don’t have any specific link right now since I don’t know what build you are going for. But metabattle and the forums have a lot of builds for all game types, dulfy has some interesting guides on rotation and skills explanations and youtube have them all in vids.
hlaraujo answered pretty well but just wanted to add a couple things. When leveling in your training points go get kits and tools trait line so you can get streamlined kits. Any kit + Streamlined kits = perma swiftness, great for leveling and in general.
As for condi rotations, there are a variety of rotations that scale pretty well, single kit builds at 85% of max and a few in between those two scaling up.
Alchemy is a must have if you wish to suvive against heavy condition attacks. It the meat of Engineer’s condition clense
great feedback guys. thank you for the help. I found this engi guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tJ8hZGrtHI
it seems power is a good start for leveling. It also explains going into tools for the speed boost is important
