I’ve been playing an Engineer since BWE1 and I have had a serious frustration with them. We have no weapon swap and thus we are given the option to have a secondary weapon take up a utility slot. This is fine if these weapons were more powerful then normal weapons since we sacrifice a utility. We could even accept them not being as powerful if the Tool belt skill provided by them felt like a real utility skill the weapon kit took from us, but most feel lacking.

But my concern is the fact that when we’re in these weapon kits we don’t benefit from our weapon Sigils. It almost feels like a bug, since we’re not weapon swapping technically compared to other classes, we’re using a chosen Utility skill so it’s fair to state that we should benefit from currently equipped weapon sigils from our pistol(s)/shield/rifle no matter the kit we’re in. Because if we don’t that’s the second penalty for using a weapon kit.

We just need to start treating the kits as a weapon. We should be able effectively apply sigils to them and take advantage of on-swap sigils as well. Probably take a fair amount of coding work though.

The very LEAST they could do is let weapon swapping sigils work when swapping out a kit… but even that we don’t get.

Wiggely, wobbely and other wombaty wabbity creatures…

The whole problem is they’re not a weapon, they’re a utility ability that changes your weapon abilitys on the fly. To balance them they have to assume your not gonna use that weapon all the time but might constantly switch between it and your normal weapon. Otherwise there wouldnt be a perk, it would actually be a disadvantage that you have to consume a utility slot to broaden your options for weapons. Honestly as it sits right now this is a problem. They probably want to let sigils effect them, but i bet they’re hashing out balance issues…for example. You can swap out your weapon to your utility and back with no CD unlike normal weapon swapping. You could exploit weapon swap runes (assuming they didnt have cd’s). Also weapon kits have to be balanced with other utility skills. I think the whole thing is just a mess internally and what seems like a quick fix is probably causing other issues which is causing the delay. I’m sure they’ll figure it out soon though we got kit auto attack finally…i’m sure a fix isnt far off.
