This should fit well in a static discharge build! Tool kit is already used, there is nothing against using rocket boots too. Maybe healing turret to not destroy the kit refinement.

For the love of god Arenanet DON’T TOUCH THIS SYNERGY. Finally some gadgets are worth playing and actually fun and especially the distance is what makes it worth filling 2 utility slots.
As long there are no very obvious ways to abuse it it should exactly stay as it is. And btw being able to jump to some awkward platforms in wvw doesn’t mean abusable. If they touch this while people skip JPs with mesmer portal all day long I would be REALLY mad.

The old rocket boots would only cure them after the effect took place. So a chill would make your rocket distance very short. It would cure the conditions, but they would still affect your rocket distance. Not sure if the new rocket boots are like that. Super speed also ignores those conditions for movement, so that might be a workaround.

That means you will have to give up the goggles or rifle turret though. Giving up goggles would remove a stun break, blind immunity, and the 10 vuln stacks for bursting, whereas rifle turret would remove your low cooldown, instant cast, high damaged ranged attack. Furthermore, using both toss wrench and rocket kick during a burst combo would not allow you to spike as easily since they both have cast times.
It would be hard to fit KR in with an SD build anyways since you’d have to give up either speedy kits or adrenal implant… I suppose adrenal implant would be the one to toss, but I’m not sure 2 seconds of super speed is really worth a loss of +50% endurance regeneration.
I had debated swapping out toolkit for rocket boots since that would still allow for a similar close-range burst combo and medkit could still use speedy kits, but I missed the toolkit too much.
I hope ANET considers keeping this though. This doesn’t seem too broken, but it’s just plain awesome,g iving the engineer a completely new role!

Yeah but if you get crippled/chilled/immobilized again after the initial use you’re screwed. The skill doesn’t give invulnerability so all attacks/conditions are fair game. That includes stuns, knock down, and fear.

Ok so I went and tested it myself. The KR for TK does indeed give the same benefit. So to conclude it is indeed the superspeed that causes this event. and now I will be running KR in my support build.

Can you add swiftness to the image?
I will be out of town until monday but I think that the data does need to be updated. Ill try again with 3 jumps to see if I can get not only a showing of all 3 jumps but to see if I can range the difference. (the idea with the jumpshot circle was a good place to start)
Hhmm I want KR in my build now, but doesn’t speedy kits screw up any planned KR? I don’t know if I could give up speedy kits….
Super Speed doesn’t get you that much further than swiftness.

Even if said Engineer DID “exploit” apparent skill usage, you can just park someone at the WP to use Air Blast on him to push him back off.

…so? Jumping puzzles can be bypassed and shortcutted any number of ways, not the least of which… just logging out and logging in the next day. ANet knows this, which is why the the only ones that have halfway decent rewards are the WvW puzzles. Assuming you’re talking about those… Engineers still rank lower than mesmers and warriors , and if they don’t… well, good for us. We deserve a turn.

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, you can do that from range anyway.
It is not intended to kill people there. The area is meant to be a “safe area”. If you kill them they’ll have to pay repair cost. Also you can get loot. Killing them there could be exploiting/griefing.
But I also think the same for the mesmer skill that can pull people down. ArenaNet should just make everyone invulnerable there and disable the skills. Would also prevent people from shooting down while they still are up there(cowards interferring with people fighting down there) and others from shooting down→up.
Only jumping there can’t be an exploit. You just jump there… and gain nothing. I don’t think you can get banned for this. Attacking and farming them there: Yes. Of course.
I like that invulnerability idea, but at the same time I would like the JP to be attached to EB again. The separation just insensitivity JP camping.
Can no longer shout out in map chat, free portals to the top of the JP come get them quick and go back to battle. Also when exiting the JP we get sent to LA whats up with that, some people want to go back into EB after they get their free seige.
Look even if boots gets nerfed via not letting super speed add the extra range swiftness also adds a little range as well. It will still be awesome so I don’t think there is need to worry. (I could be wrong) but I like using the kr because I don’t use speedy Kits. With boots I don’t need the perma swiftness cause I roll with a small group at all times and if I’m solo then I don’t even bother trying to go anywhere In a hurry cause I’m usually theif hunting(it’s my favorite sport). Also the reason y I like the super speed version better than swiftness is that when in battle you make the best leap in the world since super speed ignores combat speed and caps u out immediately then boots removes all soft cc. And then you take flight usually with 2 water field blasts and condition remove and once I land I drop a box of nails or glue shot behind and I say to myself ""¡Andale! ¡Andale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba!" As my pursuers try to catch me. So that’s 2 removal of slows. 2 conditions extra that are cleared. 2 heals. 2 aoe water blast heals. And an aoe slow every time I want to make an escape. Every 20sec…

It takes 2 minutes to add either invisible walls to protect the spawn from the sides or a rock wall to do the same.. no need to nerf something this cool. Compared to mesmers portals or thieves stealth this is nothing.

Yes it is… they’re abusing a mechanic in the game that isn’t intentended
The only thing that can be achieved after doing this is airblasting people off so you can get people down below to gank said people.
That said… I did it, it gets boring quick.

You kittens don’t even know what the prefix “meta” means.
EB at red keep between outer and inner wall there is some statue near a inner gate… you can climb the statue… and jump on the inner wall.
This is too much fun – so you can definitely expect to see this removed.
Can’t have fun things like that on the engineer!

To be honest, i don’t see a problem though, in this jump puzzle there are no “safe” zones, you have to be on your feet for anything, and if you are afk, then you deserve to be killed. I hope Anet dosn’t rip something that we love away from us just because its possible to jump to an enemies platform. If anything, make enemies invulnerable on their spawn platform, dont nerf rocket boots because this is possible.
