Hello engineer community: i’ve held my engineer back for a long time because i mainly play wvw: i don’t like elixir builds and, i have to admit it, i’m not skilled enough to make multikit builds shine.
I’ve lurked on this section a lot in the past few days and i’ve come to this idea: probably it’s already been expressed and trashed long ago, but i’d like to have a feedback from more experienced engineers on how it would work.

This is the build.

  • The base is elixir-infused bombs: this scales horribly with compassion: 0.1.
  • I’ve also tried to mix in the elixir gun for its super elixir, which scales a little better: 0.2 on impact and 0.1 for each pulse but, most importantly, it removes a condition on impact and its a light field that persists for 10 seconds on a 16 seconds cd.

Since healers are not present in this game, i could support my party in various ways:

  1. With one built-in blast finisher(#4), our elixir gun can be used to proc area retaliation when a guardian autoattacks with his staff from behind the gate (same applies to engineers with flamethrower or necros marks and so on…), i can use shield #4 and big ol’ bomb for the same purpose too.
    Altough not specified in the tooltip, toss elixir r is a light field, so all the above applies to it too.
  2. Autoattack stacks weakness (bleeding hits for so low to be unsignificant).
  3. Elixir f cripples foes and gives swiftness to allies.
  4. Fumigate could be used to cleanse conditions on allies as well as stacking vulnerability and poison on enemies based on situation.
  5. When in bomb kit i’d have access to smoke and fire fields that i could use with blasts to proc stealth or might for my allies.
  6. Detonating healing turret immediatly after it’s been placed procs an area healing (i don’t know if this has been fixed tho).
  7. Whenever i immobilize a foe i apply 5 stacks of vulnerability to him; i guess i’d have to carry a second pistol to emphazise this while not sieging to not rely only on bombkit#5 (maybe a giver’s one?).
  8. With toss elixir r i could revive important targets if they’re not under heavy focus or clear conditions while super elixir is on cooldown.

While i’m planning to run it in full cleric’s armor and soldier’s jewels to have more base power for retaliation and raw damage, i’m not sure about runes: would i give up too much to get citadel’s effect of bomb on hit? And, more important, would that bomb heal?
