Synaptic Overload «~» Bunker Down
even better, switch experimental turrets with elixir-infused bombs for even more build-synergy between explosives and alchemy.
But then again, a-net is trying to promote something called “build-diversity”, and even tho the idea seems nice, it is nothing but keeping all build-options equally mediocre instead of creating the option for some really awesome builds.
All other MMO’s have a definite meta or two for all classes that people can go to to be most effective. Such thing would not work in GW2 for 2 reasons:
- The combat system is way too fast and reflex/luck-dependent to have stable rotas in the most effective builds.
- A-net is intentionally disrupting the establishment of any meta that is considered over-powered either by nerfing / moving certain traits directly, or messing with the base-values of skills and utilities.
But the later reason is made up artificially, since a-net does not want this game to become something like “either you run this build or you are a scrub”, which is a valid concern, but also limits the fun a veteran can squeeze out of the class(es) he mains.
GW2 is meant for casual players, which is not a bad thing, but that comes with trade-offs to those who seek to constantly climbing up to the skill-ceiling. It is -intentionally – limited, which is one of the many reasons why the attempt to get some e-sport presence for gw2’s PvP is perceived as the big joke it is.
