We have a great deal more blinds then warrior, Mesmer or ranger. As for thief, they function so different in so many ways, that comparing them to the engineer on a one to one bases for anything of this nature, to me, seems near impossible.

I agree that I would enjoy rocket boots being an evade I guess.

I would like acid bomb to have some evade frames please. That seems the skill that gets me down the most, and Ill be like " come on I jumped "

If they were to provide engineer with more evade options, it would have to be on underutilized utilities only. Giving it to weapon skills would be an insane boost in defensive power in conjunction with things like tool kit or elixir gun, as well as high swiftness+vigour uptime. Hell, even a turret build could benefit greatly from it, and it’s not really something they need. Engineer has never really had built in evades as part of their defensive repertoire, similar to how they’ve always had poor access to stability and condition removal.

Perhaps it could be an option for the hammer, but we don’t really know what that thing does yet.

I’m a bit wary about putting an evade on rocket boots, as this would make it a much more powerful escape tool. One of the things keeping it balanced is that you can still get hit by stuff after you use it, so it’s not a get out of jail free card. But I guess it probably wouldn’t make it completely overpowered. The evade would have to be fairly short duration though… no more than 1/2s. Or perhaps have the evade on that landing roll thing, but that’s kind of buggy.

I’m not sure what else could really use an evade that would also make sense… something like the personal batting ram could maybe use a buff, but I don’t see how an evade makes sense there. Something like that should definitely not be given to any kit as they all already have enough utility as is. I think even acid bomb would be pushing it… mind you, med kit is underwhelming in the current environment, but that’s mostly healing "turret"’s fault.

Even half a second evade frame would make me happy for acid bomb. Like you said, if it was simlar to rockets in which it atlest gave you that half a second to leap then you were free to be hit during the jump thats cool. Just let me atlest jump
