Thoughts on Engineer Profession
Actually if anything I feel Scrapper has dulled things on Engi. There is less need now for kit juggling outside of PvE (which is still pretty much the same just with a different weapon).
Good point, but take into consideration this. Everyone’s running elite builds. Elite builds are pretty much bruisers on steroids.
I’m finding I have to take bunker-like stats and traits just to SURVIVE. Pre-HoT pvp was just simply superior.
Ok now I’m lost. Are you having trouble surviving on a Scrapper? Cause again, that is something else the Scrapper made easier. They have pretty decent survival and damage when played well, and it is in no way more difficult than playing Engi pre-HoT was.
I’m sorry I threw you off there, my primary concern is that engineer just requires so much more micro-management compared to the past.
Now I’m confused too… because you just said you don’t swap kits as much with scrapper, but it has more micro-management?
Now, I’m just confusing everyone.
I’ll just say I have trouble adjusting to Scrapper compared to core engi, that’s all. I haven’t played engi since 2014.
I see what you’re saying. You’re right, the weight of your actions is lower, so there is more micromanagement regarding rotations and engagements. Engineers are weaker than they used to be and the Scrapper profession was sort of the way to sweep the inherent issues with Engineer under the rug still leaving it a very broken class in comparison to it’s power in the past.
Engineers do more damage today than they ever have but the cost of that damage is pretty much learning to play Beethoven as you said. The Scrapper, no matter how I test it out, doesn’t cap out on the damage possible for the Engineer and is very much so a bunker profession and making up that damage with some of the traits gone altogether is sort of hard.
