Has there ever been a use for this skill besides trolling? I’ve never seen it anywhere close to useable for any reason.

Suggestion 1: Make it throw chicken instead. At least people will get a laugh out of it.
Suggestion 2: Make it a roller mine? Oh wait, we already have the blast gyro…
Suggestion 3: Dancing sylvari hologram as a distraction?
Suggestion 4: Keep all the damage the same, just make the explosion map-wide? Hah
Suggestion 5: Make it put on a ton of one condition (IE Burning, bleeding).
Suggestion 6: When the engineer detonates it, they teleport back to it?

Actually used it for debuff in Fractals if nobody can/want to do it. It was crap before they revamped the insta but now it has some value.
Oh and it is a good open world troll towards ele when no 1 2 3 4 LB ranger is around

number 4 used to be a real thing and it was enough to give it a niche as boon strip. it didnt need a damage buff, but ok thats cool.

or just reduce the cast time on the toolbelt and make it viable for 1 shot/yolo builds at least it will get some use lool

This gadget could focus on teleport…
Ex:
The tool bel skill could be a ground target skill that throw a mine.
The skill icon changes and a new skill is allowed. This skill destroy the mine, breaks stun and teleport the Engineer to the mine location, but do not does damage.
If an enemi enters on mine ativation radius, the mine glues on the enemi and an another skill is allowed intead. This skill is activated by the Engineer and teleports the afected enemi tho a ground targeting location without inflict damage.

The utility skill could for now be replaced for the actual toolbelt skill “mine field” with instant cast.

I’d think that this changes make it viable and competitive.
