How about throw electric mine instead?

If triggered, the mine makes a electric field and can also shock enemies. I feel that electric fields don’t get a lot of love.

Yeah, while it is nice that my ele has a unique field, electricity seems fitting for engineers too.

I would’ve liked to see a lot more electricity in place of all the glue and ice and other campy weirdness.
Explosions are awesome though. Don’t touch my mine!

Just give us Speedy’s shortbow for a weapon set, full of gadgety arrows like lightning fields and such.

Lightning field is exclusive to ele. Ice field exclusive to else and ranger. Engie can ice field but its only on the crappy mortar elite. Spread these Fields out to more classes/weapons

Lightening is the only field type that is available to a single profession (ele). Dark can only be done by thieves and necros. Other than that, all other combo fields have at least 3 professions that can lay them down. And engineer has access to more field types than probably any other profession (even ele).

…having said that, I’d love an electrical mine combo field. Seems to make a lot of sense for engineers.

I’m surprised our “static charged shield” doesnt have a lighting field. Or within our toolkit (that uses a magnet), or anywhere else for that matter. You think this would be the most likely element an engineer would try to harness to power his bizzare gizmos….

I too would like to see the profession of access to atleast one electric combo.

Throw mine is kinda fun for what it is….but if they changed it to a lightning field combo creater, i wouldnt mind too much, got enough knockback abilities.

Interesting idea, it’s silly that only ele’s get a lightning field when it would fit so well with engi. Tbh, I think gadgets in general could use some improvement, in my mind there is no reason to take a gadget over a kit, and it’s disappointing because some of them are pretty fun.

that is an unrelated problem. A more pleasing design would have been to replace engineers core mechanic. F1 shoulda been a drop down menu to what you would want your secondary weapon to swap out to be (flame thrower or elixer gun, toolkit)
f2-f4 coulda been used for a evolving turret that got speacial enhancements depending on what your 3 utility skills were. Then you coulda had utilitys be more focused on cool gadget abilties like we have now and elixers.

but too late for that…thing is a kit will always be hard to balance because it gives you access to 6 abilities instead of 2. and unfortunatly the 5th-6th abilities or even toolbelt abilities on kits are more amazing than what some of the gadgets do with their one ability/toolbelt.

Or more simply, just make it so kits and turrets went on the toolbelt bar. The engineers were stuck with a SPECTACULARLY shortsighted design.
We could have had legitimate utility skills to replace those instead of all the toolbelt alternative skills, and in turn any of those could easily have included an electric field.
