Tip o' the Day
Pistol users: When being attacked by a Ranger, target their pet with Static Shot as your opener. The pet’s charge/pounce will miss and the Ranger will be hit by all bounces and unable to evade by dodge rolling.
good one

I do this by mistake all the time.
It is a good tip but playing up a Ranger alt I gotta say that a pet’s charge/pounce is telegraphed about a day in advance of it happening. I prefer to shoot the Ranger (and get the pet on the bounce) because I hate trying to switch targets.
It is possible to dodge a bounce, but I agree that it is harder to dodge (thus better from the engineer’s perspective). Also, I’m slowly getting better at fighting rangers and finding that killing the pet is often a great option for condi engineers. Not only do they lose the damage from the pets, they lose almost all of their cc and empathic bond. So if I can LoS the ranger and land a long burn and confuse on their dog, I do so. It’s not always best to kill the pets, of course, but if you’re in a situation where you can the rest of the fight is easy.
I focus on pets first as well, but more so because I get sadistic twinkle in my eye watching the critters limp away.

You kittens don’t even know what the prefix “meta” means.
I love targetting pets, downed players and the like with my bouncing AoEs as, for the most part, they cannot dodge or evade and their poor unsuspecting comrades are far more likely to eat the extra pain for them (except those pesky downed Eles and Thieves…) Good tip.

I swear to god when I read your posts I could swear that I wrote them. We must have almost identical playing styles.

I just had to quote this for its awesomeness.

Haha, I watched some of your videos of your old builds back when you posted them and I think we do have pretty similar styles. Saying that is pretty much me giving a compliment to me, because you recorded some pretty sweet fights. Okay, in reality your fights are much more epic than mine.
Feel free to add some of your own tips to this thread. I don’t mean to stand in the way of a budding bromance, but I did start this tread for helpful tips.
Activating The Engineers Net Shot skill then immediately jumping, will allow for the projectile to travel over obstacles that would otherwise “Obstruct” Net Shot. This can be used effectively to avoid hitting pets when trying to target the master.

Overcharged Shot is the only Rifle Ability that will not hit players if they immediately gained invisibility apon Overcharged Shots activation. The rest will fire, and still strike a target that has recently been dropped from your UI. The self Knock Back from this skill is prevented with Stability but will not trigger any related traits that activate on Knock Back.

Potent PvP healing combo.
What you will need:Rifle/Healing Turret/Rocket Boots.
-Tip: This combo is best used immidiatly after a successful Net Shot/Overcharged Shot.
Combo:
1)Deploy Healing Turret (Get base heal and mild Regeneration)
2)Detonate Healing Turret within its Water Field. (Gain mild base heal)
3)immidiatly activate Rocket Boots launching your self away from the target while activating another Water Field from the Healing Turrets Water Field. (Gain slight base heal)
4)Begin activating the Healing Turrets Tool Belt Skill Regenerating Mist while you pick yourself up. (Regeneration re-applied while creating an additional Water Field.)
5)Jump Shot out of the Water Field back towards your enemy. (Mild base heal)
This combo is realiable, and very consistent in PvP.

I discovered this a while ago but only with the healing skill, after some testing:
Some underwater toolbelt skills are on a different cd timer then on ground toolbelt skills, allowing you to use the same toolbelt skills 2x, once under water and once on land. This amounts to double heals, extra might stacks and other boons, and some extra damage.
The following utility skills’ toolbelt ability can be used 2x:
Rifle Turret
Grenade Kit
Elixir B
Elixir C
Elixir R
Elixir S
Elixir U
Enjoy!
Cool stuff. Keep it comin’.

Question about step 5: How do you get another Rocket Boot activation? Did you mean Jump Shot?

Fixed. Sorry about that! Yes I meant Jump Shot back towards your opponent, triggering the final Water Combo Field heal while closing the gap to your opponent.
