Hey guys, I just started playing celestial engi in pvp a few days ago and I’m loving it. I use tool kit, grenade kit and elixir s (replace this with rocket boots once I have the gear to use this build in wvw). I was wondering if players who have experience with celestial engi could give me some tips. What skills/kits do you use? What skills do you chain? Are there any traits,sigils or runes that you are very fond of? Any other tactics/strategies?

Don’t waste your skills, try to combo off of your reliable CCs like Overcharged shot/Magnet/Crate.

Keep poison up on your enemy.

Don’t waste your heal skill and pick up the turret when you don’t need the blast finisher for extra 1K heal. Also learn as fast as possible when and what condi’s are good to remove.

Grenade 5 can not be blocked, use it on guards and other blocking enemies when you can.

Chains :
1. Elixer S toolbelt > Magnet > Prybar > Overcharge shot/net > Grenade 4 > 2 > 5 > 3.

2. Overcharge shot > Net > Grenade 4 > 2 > 5 > 3.

I use the elixir gun as third utility because I like playing more supportive. A few tips:

You can stow the Tool Kit while Pry Bar is casting to guarantee an Intelligence proc.

It’s better healing over time to PICK UP the healing turret than detonate. (I would detonate it only if you’re pressured and can’t get back to it or you need the CC with APT).

Lining up Throw Wrench through a light field (e.g., Super Elixir) cleanses conditions off allies. Good support.

While Gear Shield is channeled you can swap to other kits and check cooldowns.

Save unblockable skills like Poison Grenade and Box of Nails for when guardians go defensive. It is hilarious.

1. The best utilities to use are Slick Shoes, Tool Kit, and Grenade Kit!
2. Learn combos! A basic combo is Magnet > Prybar > Overcharge Shot > Throw Wrench > Net Shot > Blunderbuss > Grenade Barrage
3. Hoelbrak Runes with Battle/Intelligence sigils is the standard gear setup! I know Chaith uses Pack Runes with mystery sigils! I’d guess Doom/Energy!
4. 30/0/0/20/20/ is the standard trait setup!
5. Overcharge Shot is the most important ability! Land it and you win!

Have to agree with Vee Wee on the utilities. Slick Shoes is incredible for both escaping and setting up your combos. With the recent shave on Might, I’ve been using Pack Runes with Doom sigil and loving it. Not sure which I prefer most for second sigil yet though.

I run Energy and Cleansing sigils so I can run Protection Injection and Backpack Regen simultaneously. Pack runes are also love/life. Might switch cleansing for doom though as I’m having trouble dropping sustain-heavy opponents.
