To Engineer or Not to Engineer.
Yes and Yes. Erm….more words….cool.
They’re amazing in fractals, more than ok in dungeons, and yeah… silverwastes… of course.
Flamefarmer is op for the Silverwastes and other open world tagfests.
Ok, I appreciate all the input thanks. I think I’m gonna main a engineer <3
A bonus you get from an engineer other from pve is spvp or wvw cause you can just face roll the majority of the other classes out there.
Hey ^.^ I was wondering if I could get some advice about the engineer. I’m trying to decide If I should roll an engineer or not. Some of the questions I have. Do they perform well in dungeons and fractals? and is farming with them easily such has silver waste events ect.
An engineer’s biggest contribution to PvE is elevating party DPS over a sustained period through might and vulnerability.
Where most other classes elevate group damage in a more burst oriented, cooldown-dependent setup (e.g., ice bow & banners), engineers have a more sustained buffer presence. We aren’t limited by cooldowns when it comes to stacking vulnerability because it comes directly from our grenade kit’s attacks.
Unfortunately, dungeon design in Guild Wars 2 just lends more toward burst damage setups. Guardians, thieves, and warriors are good enough at front-loading vulnerability to where we just aren’t needed; even among the toughest dungeons in the game—Arah and TA Aetherpath—you will find it very easy to cheese through content through reflects and conjured weapons.
I would be surprised if anyone turned you away from playing an engineer in dungeons, but I do think it is important to establish that our contributions are not inherently “meta” when it comes to them. Thankfully, fractals are a different story. FOTM 30+ boss fights generally last long enough to where our vulnerability contributions gain an edge.
