Hi guys! I’ve been running a pure zerker engineer in wvw for quite some time now. Slotting Grenade Kit, Rocket Turret and Tool Kit for maximum long range burst and so I’ve slotted the Tools master tier trait: Scope.

Scope: Gain critical hit chance increase by 10% on targets farther than 600 yard or w/e they use.

So my question is,: Does anyone know if I actually need a target for this trait to work or does if affect all targets far away from me?

I…actually don’t know.
I think a pretty simple way to check it would be to target a neutral mob or critter, and see what happens to your crit chance if you back away past 600 range.

Edit: Upon testing, I’ve not noticed any change on my Hero Screen, at the very least. It might be that it just isn’t reflected there.

How would you expect it to work with a target? That makes no sense. It’s simple: The trait is an allways active passive wich says, that you have 10% more crit chance on enemies farther than 600 yards. You can’t activate anything, so the question seems a bit weird to me. It affects every enemy farther than 600 yards to you. However I expect that projectiles in mid air, like grenades, are calculated by their hit and not when you start to throw them.
