Guild Wars 2

Im a returning player so bare with me. It looks like this build might get nerfed coming the xpac. But Im curious as an overall build if its still any good? It seems fun and I can do a lot of things to stay alive/survive in spvp/duels. Not sure what how well it would do in wvw. I ‘ve read everything about the meta builds and such and played with one or 2. So far the elixir build (no elixir gun just elixir/rifle skills) just feels right. But on occasion I get wtf pwned in 2-3 hits by one guardian! Not sure how that happens really. When that happens then I wonder If I’m missing something. Any advice would be appreciated.

yes, you missed to dodge.
that guardian that pawned you simply used a teleport to nuke you right away. options to deal with that: dodge, toolkit block, and your best bet: shield #5 medi-guards almost always have no stability, so interrupting and counter-bursting works just fine, especially since they only sit on 14k health, and their healing-skill is easily interruptible with TK #5.

HGH elixer build has already been nerfed EXTREMELY hard to the point of limited viability in higher levels of play. Fun build though…

2/4/2/6/0 battle+fire, runes of strength, zerker armor, knights trinkets

I haven’t played this build much since the patch tho, the few times I played it still seemed to work fine but sigil of battle took a huge hit so I might (hah!) just swap it by something else like air, bloodlust or leeching.

Doom isn’t a bad pick either. -33% of your enemy’s healing ability is undervalued by many. Against regen it’s an even better pick imo. I use it when roaming/small party. Unless I have nades on my bar. Then I use Air. Engi is so versatile, I have weapons with diff sigils for every occasion.
