Q:
We have two traits which increase passive movement speed in Power Shoes and Leg Mods, I can’t find any real data on if they are worthwhile or not. Would be nice if could console current movement speed or something.
My assumptions are as follows
Out of Combat (OOC)
100% = Normal Speed
110% = Normal Speed + Leg Mods
133% = Normal Speed with Swiftness
133% = Normal Speed with Swiftness + Leg Mods (doesn’t go above 133%)
200% = Super Speed (5secs)
In Combat (IC)
90% = IC Speed
120% = IC Speed with Swiftness
100% = IC Speed with either PS or LM.
133% = IC Speed with PS/LM and Swiftness
180% = Super Speed (5secs)
200% = Super Speed with PS/LM
So question wise
1) IC speed is 90% of normal?
2) Does Leg Mods operate in Combat? (seems super pointless trait if not, given we can keep swiftness up easily)
3) Are my assumptions correct? unsure how to measure it properly

Was curious about this as well. Will there be a change to an existing item giving a constant speed buff until the item is used like the sigils and seals work for other classes. That would by my question. It looks pretty close to what I’m seeing.
From what i can remember, slick shoes will not increase movement speed when out of combat.
Slick Shoes by itself shouldn’t increase movement speed. If you were referring to its toolbelt skill Super Speed, that is a little bugged in that it doesn’t allow you to go faster than Normal + Swiftness. However, I haven’t tested it in combat with conditions like Chill or Cripple – maybe in those cases the tooltip of ‘double speed’ would be accurate?
Superspeed+ cripple or chill= very fast crip, you’ll be running at swiftness speed while dragging your feet.
Looks hillarious imo.
Super Speed was what I was meaning, aware the gadget by itself does nothing. Have edited original post to reflect Super Speed.
Regarding Super Speed being bugged and not working out of combat? doesn’t seem to be the case when I use it. I.e. running in a zerg while swiftness seems to be up for all using it moves me visibly forward in the group. If any bugs it’d be it doesn’t really seem like 200% movement speed more like 150% since only seems slightly faster than swiftness.
At the moment back to original thinking that both the movement speed traits are pretty pointless, sPvP is probably to confined for 10% to make much difference and in WvW still faster classes out there overall.
