Hi all,

Sorry if this is a stupid question I have been away fromt he game for awhile and just getting back in.

Is this Viable? and if so can someone help me on a build?

Turretless builds are some of the most “viable” ones. What kind of build do you want, and what do you want to do with it?

Well I just PVE for now so something good for starting out a new Eng and lvling… just hate having to put turrents down all the time, that was the case when I left the game. so anything but Pistol/Shield would be cool.

Curious, I cannot recall a time when the engineer was felt to be turret centric at all.

Well personally, I recommend the bomb kit. Especially for leveling. I like a 6/6/x/x/2 build myself, with healing kit, elixir gun, rocket boots, and supply crate as heal, utilities, and elite. Zerker, knights, rabid, or dire gear are all options for gear in that set up as well. With this build you can go conditions with rabid or dire gear and pistol shield, or you can go power with zerker, knights, or even soldiers if your having trouble, and use rifle.

Turrets aren’t particularly good (and never have been, except in low-tier PvP, apparently). If you’re asking for something to avoid even the use of the Healing Turret, there’s HGH/elixir-focused builds, Gadgets can be fun to use despite their limitations, and Kits are some of the most commonly-used things.

PS Why do people say turrents over turrets! Is turret spelled differently in other countries! Like color and colour! Vee Wee must know!

Turrets got popular lately because you can easily give your allies amazing boons like protection, vigor, and retaliation. Not something turret-less engineers can easily do.

But usually turrets are just there for support, you probably want to focus on bomb and grenade kit.
